I have an issue where the Sparx is aligned, but the edge checker shows uneven edges, exceeding green zone. I’ve checked across 3 different pairs of skates. I ended up manually dialling in the alignment without the alignment wheel/magnifying glass thing until I got even measurements on 2 separate alignment tools. I guess the question is, can the alignment wheel be off? How about the alignment tool (magnifying glass thing)? Anyone else run into this issue?

I just bought a used ES100... Yes, I lined up the alignment wheel as best as possible but it was not good enough. I would have one edge much higher than the other. I would just adjust 1 click at a time to get edges as even as possible, moving the sharpening wheel in or out. If only the alignment tool lined up closer to the alignment wheel when inspecting because they are too far apart for an accurate alignment. In the end, my edges would be off by only ~1/2 of a mark or less. Usually very close to perfect in the middle but a little more off (3/4) of a mark on the toe or heel.

@@voobtoob right on! The alignment tool was useless for me.. I had to manually dial it in by trial and error…

This would have been so much better if you would have shown the lines on the checker - seeing what you were looking at. 👍
