Hey Fooster! I'm glad you were able to use the mimicking process! As a note, clan members will not eat, drink, or sleep at all without seeing you perform that action when either following you or within a certain distance, and it will eventually kill them if you take enough time between generations (which resets all hominid's meters to full). But, you don't need to order them (through mimicking) to eat or drink while they are following you or within a certain distance of you, you simply need to perform that action (eating something, drinking water, or sleeping in a sleeping spot) and they will copy you once you've started that action. IMPORTANT: They will not be able to copy you when you eat, drink, sleep, or pick up/alter items while they have items in their hands, unless those are the same exact items you're using to perform that action. If the hominid you're controlling can't do it with those items in/out of hand, neither can they. Hope all that helps!

yeah, you can have all apes equipped with a spear but it needs to be in their left hand so their right hand is free to use.

Also your clan doesn't always sleep while you sleep. Having multiple beds and the fact they don't follow you helps

Also if he give every APE a meteorite in 1 hand and mimic pick stick then cut his own stick 2-3 times then mimic and clan will do it the nr he does it thats why i sed 3 good to do in waves of 3-4 chops max so your clan dont mess the sharp stick :),,,, And the mid apply work similer way but when i play i notice i have to pick 2-3 mud scoops drop them in pile then pick again rubb my self then mimic , Then for sun if am not mistaken Grinder + aloivera make sun screen :) Also in menu you can check what obj you done kill snake 2 times with rock stick sharp stick etc thay work in that fasion do every thing 2 or 4 times to achiv/obj complete :) cont wait for next video

Fooster, clan members will copy basic needs (eat/drink/sleep) whenever you do these things near them, no need for mimic orders. However, this only applies if their RIGHT HAND is EMPTY. Unlike your ape, they can even drink with an item in their left hand. It's often best to only put weapons in their LEFT HAND as this still counts as being armed and removes the need to constantly micromanage what they're holding just so they can eat/drink.

Can I add to this that I think my clan doesn't rest when they are following me. I always end my expedition before I rest so that the clan will get some sleep too. I feel like this episode they were sleepy

Also something useful when traveling with a group, when you hold R2/RT on your controller and then hold circle/B, the group will intimidate nearby animals. Makes traveling in groups alot easier. And the group sticks alot closer when holding down the R2 button

Helpful note #2: Once you get to and past 'millennium man', you can only intimidate enemies if you become vigilant first (idk what controller is, but for keyboard it's holding 'Shift'). Also, you can analyze members on an individual basis by walking up to them to check for conditions. (Such as overheating in the desert, which is why they were all stumbling around and losing water super fast) Hope that helps too!

Fooster, if you mimic picking up a stick off the ground they won't listen but from a stack they will. So before doing the mimic to drop make a second stick, stack it to the stick you already dropped then mimic that.

I kinda assumed that’s why the stockpile mechanic was introduced so early. Part of me wanted to see stockpiles of everything built to see how clan would interact with it. I even was hoping to see if foraging with the clan to collect specific materials in order to build stockpiles of different things was viable; it looks like that is the way now. Now ya gotta build stockpiles in every camp of the essentials like sticks, horse tail/aloe Vera, choppers grinders, and natal grass dippers. Oh wait! You’re on the Savanna now! Build satellite camps near resources you want for your clan and migrate back and forth if need be! You could have a satellite camp near a termite nest, and another near an oasis and just leave your stockpiles of tools etc there. I can’t imagine you’d get locked out from using an old camp. Interesting to see if satellite camp building is viable way to build neurons because of how you’re utilizing the environment/making the environment your home like cowboys sleeping out on the range or a hominid that is at top of food chain.

You don't need to use stockpiles in this case. If it is an option then it will be more consistent but the reason it is not working for Fooster is that he is picking up a sharpened stick and ordering them to mimic, they cannot copy this because there are only standard sticks on the ground.

Fooster, remember to dodge every animal species at least twice, hit them with branches, sticks and sharpened sticks. also hit them with all the rocks, altered or not. it really helps with the evolution progress. you can also hit animals with precious stones which also gives evolution points! btw i love this series, Keep it up brotherrr!!

Hey fooster, I wanted to give a couple tips of my own even if they may have been said already because I have played this game so much and you genuine enjoyment of this masterpiece made me absolutely stick to this series. 1. I don't know if you just haven't seen any of the comments but after you get past millennium man you can use R2 to switch to alert from calm and it makes you faster as well as much more visible so if you use sprint you go much faster and it starts unlocking more ambulatory stuff that makes the first area of the jungle feel super small in comparison to what most players see it as when you start out. 2. Im pretty sure you already figured this out but you can strip horsetail to make stuff that helps bleeding and if you grab a granite grinder you can grind horsetail, aloe, and kaht (that red leafy plant on those small bushes/tree) which increases the strength and length of the buffs those respective items give you. I think other than that you have pretty much everything that's super important down other than that when you make babies make sure to get all fertile females to be in a couple and be pregnant before using the give birth button to get 3 instead of one at once which considering this I vid im guessing you already figured this out. Great vid as always fooster and hope you enjoy the rest of this game as much as I have.

You have to get them to switch hands or drop the sticks to free up their right hand. Same with eating, they cannot and will not eat if their right hand is occupied.

Loving the series here are some more tips - The right hand is the action hand in all, so unless they have the right hand available they wont do the action or thing you want them to do. - The mimicking think of it as a step by step process so example: Grab a branch >> Mimic >> Switch Hands >> Mimic >> Alter >> Mimic. However, The "Mimic" skill is limited to some actions that require an empty hand -The clan should sleep when you sleep so dont worry about that.

Complex actions like sharpening sticks or opening coconuts can be copied, but theres a bit of a trick to it. To do this, only give the mimic order after you have fully completed the action, not just after the first "hit". For example: Your ape (and clan members) have a rock in the right hand and a stick in the left hand. You sharpen the stick as you normally would, but when its finished, hit the 'mimic' button. Your clan members will begin to sharpen their sticks as well, only one mimic order necessary. Hope this helps =)

You are correct they only eat/drink if there are no items in their right hand. Same goes for picking stuff up.If they have something in their right hand and you ask them to mimick picking something up they will not if something is in their right hand.

Having just finished my playthrough, my experience with the sticks is the opposite. You want them all to hold the weapon in their left hand, they will still defend themselves but they will also eat and drink without disarming. I don't think that's tied to any specific neuron. *Looks like you saw it in action around the 12:00 mark. So cool to have the clan on the move together and able to fight.

For sleep, make sure non of the clan members are holding objects. Start a “clan call” so they’re all following you. Make enough beds for every single ape, or if the apes are coupled one per couple. Then lie down and sleep. If some of the members don’t sleep, tell them to wait at the settlement and just don’t take them in the next expedition.

Fooster, you should really try using intimidating sometimes it's the better defense. Also if you have babies on you or around when you inspect the bones of previous elders. It gives you extra neuro energy. So for mimic you were doing it right for the most part. Any action you take you have to order a mimic. Even for dropping a tool like a stick. Their stick must be in the right hand for them to drop it as well. The reason why they couldn't pick up the mud is because they had sticks in their hands.

Tip: You can use your RT and LT to control your emotion, you can use LT to sneak up on animals like the African horse before it runs away and RT is for when u are trying to intimidate but I use it to travel faster since it makes you fully sprint.

one thing I learned playing this game, is if you hold down the right trigger and hold b to intimidate, instead of holding b to call clan members, the sound travels farther and they all follow you at once, so you dont have to go around calling three times making sure everyone heard you

Btw if the stick is in left hand it will auto switch to a right when attacked so you can have them lead leave with sticks in the left so they can still eat drink and sleep when on the go. But you have to make sure its in the left hand. If the right is occupied they won't mimmick
