During the Halloween events there's a gimmick where an imp will turn you into any number of story characters, from heads of state to Scions. He probably did that with his FC mates for Nanamo, Thancred, Raubahn & Minfilia and then did the emotes.

4:30 - that sfx is used in big brother when something bad happens as a added "drama" noice, and it's actualy the sound of a violin bow being played terriblly, i.e. a unsettling noice - drama.

Regarding the NPCs, there is a mod that can replace your model with any other one, including those of NPCs. So you could do that and then do the keying in front of a green screen. For Minfilia though, you can pretty much create her in game, her face, hair and outfit are all available to select or purchase.

Funny thing about the housing, I had to stop playing immediately after Endwalker because of personal reasons and I was sad that I was going to lose my house. But then I thought about how my house is located in a nice plot and someone else is going to move in and appreciate and it wasn't so bad anymore. Came back a week ago and met the new owners, turns out they turned it into a catgirl cafe and I love it.

just in case anyone wants to know about ffxiv crimes (m*ds) - - - so basically you can use this thing called Anam/nesis that lets you not only swap your own character's model with any other model in the game but also lets you do custom poses like you were in a 3d animation software, and then gshade has a whole ass greenscreen built into it, so you can just key out your character in real time in the game if you wanted to (and had a strong enough pc lmao)

I get the knee jerk "why are there robots in fantasy" vibe. I used to be the same way. But there is _so much_ of that sci-fi/fantasy around at this point that I feel it shouldn't even be surprising anymore. Though I still do love my pure fantasy. The car and the bike do still push it a bit for me, even though I use both regularly, because they don't fit with the style FFXIV has built for its sci-fantasy, but they're both borrowed from other games so its not surprising they don't exactly mesh.

The Random Housing timer was an attempt to deal with people buying houses just to sell them for exorbitant prices. It strongly encouraged gold buying even though you can get banned for that. It resulted in people making bots just to buy a house and tons of stress on honest players. I know someone who spent 8 hours doing this just for someone to transfer plots into that one (because pot transfer doesn't have to wait on the timer).

The magitek stuff originates in Final Fantasy 6, the Magitek Reaper armor even being based off of concept work for that game and the Magitek Predator being based on sprites. And you're right, consistently Lalafel are evil little shits.

There may or may not be a 3rd party program that allows you to do a lot of client side stuff like changing time of day. Change NPC outfits, customisation or even change an a NPC to look like another existing NPC. You can also use it to force the NPC to perform emotes or change its position in the world locally. This is all done in Gpose.

Skipping Pint's sponsor ads is heresy, as is skipping any content creator's ads when they put just as much effort in. That said I do skip the ones who read it off the script, because if I didn't I'd be muting them or switching to something else. Pint likely uses Gshade's Chroma key functions to greenscreen the avatar and just play and record the emotes.
