In order for Jesus to be the Messiah, he would have to be a descendant of David, from the tribe of Judah. So if you assert he is the Messiah, he must by definition be a Jew.

@esnail it's partially correct. Most Judeans after Ezra and Nehemiah were half-Edomites who followed Judaism, after Hyacranus converted them to the religion. They later became the "Jews", which is an anachronistic term if we're discussing biblical history.

Reading through the comments there are a lot of questions about skin color and ethnic groups! God looks at the heart of man! There are Jews and gentiles. Once I became a Christian I asked God to forgive me and my generations of curses. Your really missing the bigger picture here all your speaking about came from Noah who was chosen by God to start humanity over with. Shem and Ham were 100% blood related brothers. So therefore same blood line. Esau and Jacob were 100% blood brothers so same bloodline. Your literally calling out people for their "tribes" for the wrong doing of a few. And if you actually knew anything about the Bible then you would know Jacob traded Esau's birthright for a meal because he was about to starve to death. Then on top of that Jacob stole their father's blessing by pretending to be Esau. Jacob is the crappy brother in this story. But they both got over their transgressions. And became close. The Edomites came hundreds of generations after they both died. So to blame them for their "tribes" for fighting is just ridiculous. And yes you see that a few times in the bible. Because clearly the people that wrote those "books" clearly didn't read Genesis. Or they wouldn't have blamed them for hundreds of years later.

I love the memory of the late Chuck Missler. I'm grateful to God for his works. But i've learn to separate Chuck's zionist stance from his amazing work in other aspects of the Holy Scriptures. Jew is a neologism and no one should force it beyond it's appearance in the english bibles. Errors are human, i know. Um, Esau was the twin brother of Jacob / Israel. You might say he was the evil twin, hot on Jacob's heel. You can see that in the pattern of how modern Jews operate. BUT Esau - like Jacob and Israel and Abraham were all descendants of Noah / Shem. And yes, the ancient Europeans were descendants of Japheth. Our birthright came with the true descendants of Jacob / Israel. Esau was basically cursed by God from the beginning - like Cain.

Herod was a third generation Jewish proselyte. Edom was his ethnic heritage, but nonetheless, he was a Jew by birth (earlier forced conversion of the Idumeans). Proselytes should be considered Jews. Perhaps Mr. Missler doesn't believe Herod was a true proselyte, but then, that should be demonstrated, not assumed.
