Hello! I am currently the creator of this map :) I really thank you for playing it and sharing it. I'm so excited and trembling! I am French and I created this game as part of my illustration studies. Basically I simply let my imagination live and I liked making this little game full of irony and horror clichés. I created a lot of the 3D models of the games and I must say that I'm quite proud of my library, lol! Edward is a character that I loved creating so much that my plans today are to make a video game about him. I hope the project sees the light of day. In any case I say a huge thank you again, you really played on the map in the best way possible without forgetting anything, even the sounds of footsteps behind the door (which are currently mine). (Just if you touch Edward when he's standing at the end of the hallway and calmly waiting for you... Well... Let's just say he'll just try to kill you...). Thank you all for your comments and your kindness! it touches me deeply ! I would end by telling you that from the beginning the person who gave you all his instructions... Perhaps it was Edward himself...

Hi sorry for the very late reply and first, thank you for making and sharing your work with the portal community, it's awesome that people still enjoy this game and it's modding potential so much. Great job on not only the actual build of the map but for being able to make an actual atmosphere and feeling to everything, for a first map it's very impressive and something often lacking in community portal mods. It's really cool to learn you did this as part of your studies in illustration, and so nice to see it taken so far as to be it's own experience like this. I particularly like the style of the "bad room" it was such a jolt from the innocent childlike "happy room", and i really liked the detail of where you had the player appear, the hanging tree not being immediate but looming over you as you looked around trying to work out the jump from the other room, bringing the noose straight into my eye line was really nice. I always have good look around a map when noclipping for screenshots, so i did discover what happens if Edward got a little too close :D Also very cool to hear that you want to take this further with the Edward character into its own game, i'd love to see it when you are happy to share it, so please do let me know. Again thank you so much for sharing your work and i'm really glad you enjoyed the video ❤

The artstyle of the map and honestly the map itself made me think a lot about Spooky's Jumscare Mansion. I wonder if the mapper got inspired by it

Hello ! I am currently the creator of this map. Thank you for your comment :) In reality, even if I know the Spooky's Jumpsacre Mansion games, I created this map by completely letting myself go to my fantasy. I tried to just let go and express my "delusion" : ) But it's true that when you think about it, it looks a lot like Spooky's Jumpsacre Mansion!

this one was rather, scary, but i love it! considering all aperture creations are at some degree, sentient, edward just happens to be one of the more..aware ones.

You understood it so well ! him this poor model who endured so much during the crash tests. Maybe he just wants to make friends ? Why not play with him a little more? Poor Edward...

It makes sense, Aperture's weird obsession with giving things sentience, Aperture's lack of care for those now sentient things, repeated cruel testing, bound to happen sometime. The mannequins are the most threatening things in the game at this point :D

So this has a story attached. This map was made by one of my students. This was her very first map and I was very impressed at how she managed the story and the design. Everything was made by herself. Textures, sprites, sounds... And misspelling. The school is in France. 😊. I am happy that you enjoyed the map.

That's so cool to learn, for a first map this was very nicely done, definitely had a great atmosphere, and the jump between art styles was great, i particularly like the look of the "bad space" very unique and imposing, the little detail of the player appearing right next to the tree so that as you looked around it brought the noose into view added a lot to the "jump" I saw from @sarahnvarro3384 comment, that this was part of their illustration studies, you teach illustration then? awesome that you let your students experiment like this. As always, thank you for watching so many videos and for the comments too :D

"Edward" must be a reference to some European King. I should know because I'm taking a European History class. But really there are so many Edwards who is to say which one the map may be referencing. Maybe we should rename this map to "The Tudor's Madness" or perhaps "Louis XVI's Madness". I think a head on a pike would work quite well in Portal Two,,,,

Thanks for this idea XD I actually chose the name Edward because... It's a name that really amuses me. Before the creation of this map I was already calling everyone around me "Edward".... And currently the green plant that I had with me during my studies still bears this name........ .... But.... It's better to imagine that it is to the glory of a European King! I should have thought of that instead!

@evely_one Yeah you'd have to be more specific there's technically been 11 king Edwards, but given the royal family's long line of mental illness and inbreeding it could easily be any of them, from google Edward VIII seems to be the front runner for most likely to of be a lunatic
