It’s amazing how you missed the catacombs but that lead you to have time to see Notre Dame. A year later it’s gone, but the catacombs are still there for you to see.

quite an exaggeration to say that Notre Dame is "gone". Most of the building survived the fire and is still there.

Notre Dame is still here. The only thing that collapsed was the roof as a result of fire. The government already confirmed it will be rebuilt in the exact same style and France is pretty good at restoring old buildings. Check out Notre Dame de Rouen for example, it was terribly damaged during WWII and now it’s incredible

Lauren Foster I was just gonna comment I think it has gotten worse. Past couple videos have had repeat footage. It makes it confusing. It happened in the Luxembourg video or Belgium video. Only reason I want to comment is to be constructive so they can keep an eye out for it. I mean I watch their videos so obviously I'm a fan. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I want to go back so badly. I spent 2 weeks in Paris. I stay 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. Every night I went down to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle and get a banana Nutella crepe or a strawberry swirl ice cream. Paris is beautiful.

The Parisian architecture is stunning to look at, and every street corner is picturesque. Many of the buildings might not have names, but a couple that could be seen are: 5:04 The Pantheon could be seen behind Kara as you're leaving the Luxembourg Gardens. 7:17 The stunning building across the river that you stopped to film is called the Conciergerie. It was the royal palace at one point, and then during the French Revolution it served as a prison. Most notably Marie Antoinette was held prisoner at the Conciergerie before her execution which happened at Place de la Concorde which could be seen at 8:03. Enjoy your travels!

We are Americans living in the United Kingdom and I must say, nothing beats Paris! The food, the charm, the character, the architecture... simply stunning. If ever there again definitely recommend going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Very cheap and you get an amazing view of the Champs plus the most impressive roundabout - around the Arc - I’ve ever seen.

It's customary in Europe for major sites to be closed on one weekday. In Paris, all the museums close different days, so look online before you go. You're going to have to do a little more planning for those sites now that you're in Europe.

When I went to Paris I literally planned nothing. Of course the guy we went with had a cousin that lived there so we just got dragged around. We took the Seine River water taxi on one compete circuit, and that gave us a good idea of where everything is relative to each other. After that we went to Notre Dame, which was spectacular. Look into the ceiling (when it's rebuilt). The foundation piers didn't get laid square to each other so the ceiling structure doesn't quite line up right. Then we went to the Eiffel Tower. For a massive iron beast it's amazingly artful, detailed, and has a delicacy that belies its strength. It may have been my favorite stop. We didn't wait in line for the elevator back down from the lower observation deck and took the stairs instead. That's when I got some of my favorite pictures. Finally we hopped on the Metro and went to the Arc de Triomphe. It was a few days before Armistice Day (Veteran's Day and Remembrance Day) so there were commemorations happening for WWI. It was very touching. There are a lot of stairs, but it's worth the effort and the €12 admission. The view of the Eiffel Tower were fantastic. The next day we went out without the buddy and just walked. We were surprised how close things were. On the Metro we had no idea. The Metro was worth it but not necessary. The price for a 24 hour pass was quite reasonable, and since we were only there for 28 hours it was totally worth it. Parisians get a bad rap for being rude, and I'm sure many are, but everywhere we went there was some nice person who tried to help us find our way when we looked lost. Just watch out for pick pockets. They're everywhere and they have no shame. Don't let anyone hand you a clip bord or anything else that will occupy your hands. That's when they rifle through your pockets and bags. Most of them are Roma (gypsies), so they don't look like French people. They're at every major tourist spot. I wish we'd had a couple more days in Paris, but we went to Italy and Germany on the trip and it was time to be home. Speaking of going home, I would fly out of literally everywhere but Paris. We got to CDJ three hours early and we only made our flight because it left 45 minutes late. There was a bomb scare, which just means somebody left their carry-on at the ticket counter, so we lost our place at the check-in counter. The locals seemed more perturbed than scared so we realized it was more of an inconvenience than a threat. While the bomb scare was being solved we got in a line that let us print boarding passes and luggage tags at the kiosk, but the attendant wouldn't accept our bags. Passport control took over an hour. We got stopped at security because an umbrella looked suspicious to the bag scanner. It had been raining. Yah, we're going to have umbrellas. By the time we got to our gate there wasn't time to stop at the restroom or fill water bottles. It was a mess. I did learn one valuable lesson (other than don't fly out of Paris), don't believe anyone but the gate agent when they say the flight isn't leaving. The gate agent firmly but politely corrected someone who said I had time for a relief stop. We got on the plane, the door shut, off to Atlanta. Seriously though, take a train to Brussels or even Frankfurt to fly anywhere. CDJ airport is the worst travel experience of my life, and I've been some places. Connecting in Amsterdam is way better.

I've been binge watching your blog for awhile and i really enjoy it ( although i like your earlier ones because you were roughing it much more enjoyable ) when i was in Europe we would show up at the train station and just catch whatever train was leavening first, this made for some memorable adventures. My only criticism would be the same as all Americans Take 5 mins to understand there national treasures and don't be so flippant and nonchalant about them. Imagine somebody making light of our National treasures and how that would make you feel. I do realize how unintentional this is but i witnessed it from both sides and i just thought i would point it out. And if you every get to Sacramento CA i have some places you should see. Thanks for the videos and safe travels

Too bad you didn't get to see the catacombs, they are very interesting and one of the highlights of our trip. If you want a delicious steak and fries dinner LeRelais de l"Entrecote is fabulous.

I remember the first time I went to Paris, I stayed next to the Louvre and I wanted to see the Eifeel Tower. Since it's so big, you can see it almost from anywhere so I said to my parents "it looks close, let's just walk"...........We walked over an hour to get there jajaja But like you said, everything it's so beautiful that you enjoy the ride as much as the actual Tower. Btw, it's my birthday :) Can I get a greating from you guys?

You did not even go into the Cathédrale Notre-Dame or up in the Eiffel Tower???! Those two experiences are so much better and unbelievable than just walking by or seeing either from the outside. :-(
