I doubt you'll see this Mr Robinson I have a question. I'm a avid hunter in the United States of America. We have much more liberal gun rights than you have in Britain, I don't know any states here where we can use a silencer to hunt deer, or any animal. At least not in my state you have visited the Northeast United States, I live a couple States below New Hampshire where you went. Has it always been legal to use a silencer to hunt, sure would make a difference here. My state we can kill about 60 deer a year between bow season rifle and muzzleloader.
