9:46 I usually use a hex socket instead if the screw head accepts it. Also, I think an impact driver is more suitable for that kind of job, with less cam out on the screw head. That being said I still think they should be shipped with higher-quality screws.

For a public use charging point I'd have made the extra effort to connect via ethernet rather than wifi. Aside from the reliability aspect, should the home owner change ISP or router, they could just unplug from the old router and in to the new. Autel already have a good reputation in the 3rd party automotive diagnostics, so interesting to see their name on an EV charge point.

I was pulling out of a Rent-A-Car lot after dropping somebody off and I went out the back way but they have the whole lot fenced in and it's a tight corner onto a small street I ended up scraping on the fence. and It was shortly after I got that vehicle. The next one fishtailed and got caught on the edge of the road (for some reason around here there's a white line on the edge there's 2 inches of pavement and they like to just end it with a rough edge that's waiting to catch and kill tires.) and landed next to a tree versus sliding down the hill so it was my slowest accident ever because I was slowing down was before the edge of the road caught me. I really wish I knew how fast but I didn't have a dash cam yet.

@@artisanelectrics Jordan although this seems wonderful please be cautious. My wife is a Tax Specialist of nearly forty years experience and works with small businesses in this country. She urges you, if you have not done so, to take tax advice on this venture. For both you and this customer there are tortuous tax implications which could lead to severe penalties for you both. As one of your German followers has mentioned we too have regs about selling on electricity, not allowed if you profit from it unless you register as a business. Domestic electricity is taxed at 5% but business electricity is charged at more than 20% ( I've forgotten the exact figure already, ME brain!) so your customers could find their bills charged at the higher rate. Regarding your situation using your background computing... because your business is now installing charge points if you profit from letting people use your computer system to facilitate their 'charging business' that may well be counted as a second business for you and therefore need registering and will be taxed against. To be even more of a killjoy she says the 'revenoo' have computer programmes which scour this platform looking for just such a venture as this so they can wring as much from the hard working chap as they can. My wife really knows her stuff and although this seems a pessimistic view and she is one to err on the side of caution I urge you to look into this with an experienced tax specialist before you find yourself in a Gordian knot of unexpected difficulties. God bless, I really hope you find a way through the bureaucratic spaghetti because it seems a great idea.🙏 Btw, we have an ev and no drive so we're as hopeful that this comes off as you are, just don't get shafted by you know who! 👍

I don’t wish to be a spoilsport BUT before you go installing a charger with the intent of providing a service, under current legislation, selling electrical power to owners of ev’s could be considered as running a business from a private property. This will in all probability need to be approved by the local council and could well incur business rates as a result. Best to check beforehand.

Stupidest thing was, I was roughly 19 years old, driving a the work van to drop off some fertilizer at a client, I was going through those tight bollards that force you to slow down, and I wanted to reposition myself, I reversed, and the guy in a clio behind me just stayed there, didn't even use his horn, didn't reverse, and I reversed into him very slowly, there was a cracked bumper and bent the door on the work van, and I'd damaged his paintwork. His car was very old, already covered in damage, and he started complaining about medical damages as well as wanting the company I worked for to paint his whole car. We claimed on insurance, and he tried it on by saying he was off work due to injury, but he was forced to admit he was lying and wasn't injured, I don't think we even had to pay our excess, not sure what happened with him. But I know we didn't have any consequences. Ever since then I've always used my horn when reversing, and tried to always have a camera in recent years.

I complete dented the side of a company van around 6 years ago in an under ground car park. There was another tradesmen working on something within the car park, instead of asking him to move his tools etc, I swung the van and Mis judged the back of the van, and smashed the back of van on a bollard within the car park! Wasn’t a proud day I must admit.

Accidents with work vehicles... I have 2 who stay in my mind. 2009 - Renault Clio Van 2 Phase 1: I was inside a roundabout going forward (second exit) and someone entering hit my right back wheel. Axle was damaged, rear quarter all crumbled. Her car, a broken headlamp. Her car was a VW Rabit from the 90s... 2014 - Renault Clio 3 Van Phase 2: I was in a main road and in a intersection someone didn't stop in the red light. All my front just dissapear, bumper, headlamps and Radiators (both 3 - intercooler, engine and AC). Engine was undamaged. After that I stopped using Renault as work cars...

I joined co- charger but the prices people charge and the distance they are from where I live doesn't give any improvement on the rapids near me. Both for convenience and price with the Octopus/BP pulse RFID card they're cheaper and I can shop while I charge. You cannot sell electricity at a rate higher than the rate you bought it for. Check the ofgem rules; The resale of gas and electricity: Guidance on maximum resale price (updated October 2005)
@terryjimfletcher
@terryjimfletcher Жыл бұрын
This is what the OFGEM pdf says (summary: it does NOT apply here!) "Who does it apply to? Maximum resale price applies when any person buys gas or electricity from an authorised supplier and resells it to someone else for domestic use."
@barrieshepherd7694
@barrieshepherd7694 Жыл бұрын
@@terryjimfletcher The ofgem document goes on to clarify that the 'not applies' is when the resale is at industrial or commercial premises - which a domestic supply, being supplied at domestic tariffs and VAT rate, is not. I suspect that the homeowner would have to be registered as a business to gain exemption and that would change the price at which they buy the power and the VAT rate they get charged. Additionally the purchaser in this case is not an industrial user anyway - they are buying the power essentially for a domestic purpose "charging their car". It is a potential contentious matter which requires some case law I guess.
