Ryza Jane Santusidad #M121 The video tackles the five elements of communication, which are sender, message, channel, receiver, and feedback. Communication has been a part of our daily lives, and it can happen both verbal and non-verbal. It can happen anytime, anywhere, and everywhere. There are lots of real-life scenarios where communication is involved. One example is the communication that happens during class discussion. During class discussion, the instructor stands as the sender/source because he/she is going to be the one to convey the message through discussion. The lesson he/she is going to discuss is the message, and the channel is her discussing it verbally. Furthermore, the students inside the class act as the receiver, and they can give feedback through nodding or speaking when the instructor asks them questions. The classroom or place where the class discussion is held is the environment, and its context can be group communication. However, no matter how organized the communication is, there can still be a barrier or interference; for example, the instructor got a call from someone in the middle of his/her class, causing the discussion to stop.

Mon Arvin Bulawan #M121 Anna and John were at their desks in the bustling office, their focus momentarily interrupted by the hum of phones and distant conversations. Anna, noticing the project timeline on her computer, felt a nagging concern about the deadlines. Turning to John, she decided it was time to address the issue. "John, I think we need to revise the project timeline," Anna said, her voice cutting through the ambient office noise. She had carefully considered her words, aiming to express her concern clearly. John, turning towards her, listened intently. As Anna spoke, John began to process her words, mentally decoding the need for a possible extension. After a moment's thought, he responded, "I agree; we might need to push the deadline by a week." Their exchange, though affected by the background office noise, was clear and productive. This brief conversation encapsulated the essential elements of communication: Anna as the sender, her message, encoding, the spoken channel, John as the receiver, decoding, feedback, and the subtle noise of their environment. Their interaction exemplified how effective communication could still thrive amidst everyday distractions.

Nerra Valenzona #M121 During a group project meeting, Alex explains his research findings to his classmates. In this scenario, Alex is the sender of the message, which consists of his research findings. He encodes this information by organizing and structuring it into a coherent presentation. The channel through which he communicates is a combination of verbal explanations and visual slides on a laptop. His classmates, who are the receivers, interpret and understand the message based on their existing knowledge and context. They then decode the information to grasp the content. Feedback is provided by the classmates as they ask questions and give comments to clarify and expand on the findings presented. However, noise, such as background noise in the room or technical issues with the laptop, could potentially disrupt the clarity of the communication. This scenario effectively illustrates the essential elements of communication which is sender, message, encoding, channel, receiver, decoding, feedback, and noise.

Jhwuna Marie B. Suyat #M121 Today in the modern era, education has evolved significantly. Educators and students have embraced technological advancements to connect and share information. My scenario illustrates a common occurrence in my student life. A teacher suddenly announces a pop quiz via email for the following day. As the source of the message, the teacher conveys the assessment through the digital channel. The students, as receivers, must interpret the message and respond accordingly. The classroom environment, time of day, and students' potential anxiety or dismay contribute to the communication's context. Technical difficulties or distractions can interfere with the transmission and reception of the message. The teacher's encoding involves crafting the email, while the students' decoding entails interpreting its content.

Person B is the receiver of Person A's message and gives feedback to Person A's messages, however, both people involved in the conversation are in different places, hence, the difference in environment. Let's say Person A speaks Bisaya while Person B speaks Tagalog, during the conversation Person A mentions a word that has a different meaning in Person B's language, creating a barrier through the word's difference in context. Throughout their conversation, Person A experiences unstable internet connection, this serves as their communication's interference.
