The biggest flag I’ve seen when catching a liar, is if you bring something up to the person, and they deny it, and you act like you believe them and let it go, and then they act unnaturally upbeat and kinder than they usually are, that’s a big sign they were lying, and think they got away with the lie, and now they’re being overly nice because a: they’re happy they got away with their lie, and B: they’re still trying to trick you into believing their lie. Example: a cheater is being questioned by their spouse. The cheater isn’t usually over affectionate or romantic, but you accused them of cheating, and they came up with an excuse like “I had to work overtime” or “I was out with my buddies” and the girl is like “you’re right, I’m just over reacting” And then suddenly they’re like “it’s ok babe, I understand, you don’t need to worry, let’s cuddle xoxo” And they’re uncharacteristically being romantic and attentive. It may seem sweet, but in reality, if someone who wasn’t cheating were suddenly accused of it, they’d instinctively get mad or at least irritated. To the younger people here, look out for this ✋🏻

They lie the biggest but do it so confidently that they start believing the lies themselves. The best liars are the ones that don't feel the guilt or the anxiety by doing it. They don't keep constantly thinking "I'm lying right now, can I do it, do they suspect me?" like what happens to the majority of people who try to lie. Also, when you really trust a person, and they have you sucked in, these "how to spot a liar" techniques don't even cross your mind. It's cool to imagine you catching every person that tries to lie to you, but reality is different. You get lied to most likely every day, probably multiple times a day without you knowing.

+Nick P But it's like, a little sad if you have to watch every person's move and check if he/she's lying, all the time. Your cautiousness and lack of trust cut you off from any real relationships, making for an isolated social life in which everything that comes from outside of you is filtered. I think that's why some people choose to believe lies.

One technique I use to spot liars is actually learning what the truth is, independently.

As someone who has suffered for most of his life with a case of what may possibly be described as chronic social anxiety, I tend to have trouble when verbalizing to others due to the fact that I often stumble over my words on a consistent basis when presented with a stressful situation, regardless of whether I am intentionally telling the truth or conjuring a fib.

+Miku Hatsune People who know you would know that and take that into account. In finding out if someone is being deceptive, you need to know what their baseline behaviour is.

She asked you why, so it's a lie, she was mad but want you to realize that she is mad because of your fault, you need to analyzed what mistake you have done to her and say sorry. She was mad but she still love you, but she want you to try harder. Women are not direct in expressing feeling wether it's good or bad feeling or both. Gooodluck

When I was younger ( 6 - 18 years old ) I would lie a LOT. Now that I'm much older ( 36 years old ) I realize that my memory isn't what it used to be and I'm too lazy to lie. I just speak the truth.... Which tends to be more harmful than lying most of the time. 🤔 Well, I am who I am. 🙂
