What's wrong with it though? It's just a combination of a movie and a live performance, if it's done with live people in motion capture suits instead of prerecorded, which would make it a movie. You, Michael, are simply resisting progress, just like you probably resisted the advent of music being published on CDs because it was digital instead of analog but now I bet you have a CD collection and it doesn't bother you at all, unless you like record hiss.

On the contrary Vortek! I have fully embraced technology from the outset! I have myself used it in both recording music and producing my videos! I have also used it in my Graphic Arts, as well. I taught computer classes at Sonoma State Hospital when the California State Hospitals finally went to computer. My concern is what is behind the technology. And that we as an audience don’t find ourselves down a rabbit hole, that’s all! This is all connected to using backing tracks, keeping concert ticket prices high, suppressing new and vital talent, and the dumbing down of a lot of younger audiences! This is where art becomes degraded, IMHO! But ya made me think Vortek, and I’m pinning your comment to the top! Thanx, seriously! 🏆🏆🏆

It's just another type of entertainment. People can still watch live bands. There are many ways to lure people into paying for a ticket to sit in a building, from sports to religious services, this is just one more type of lure. It's a very old game and still lucrative, people just never get tired of packing into a building, slapping their hands together, yelling woo and whistling.@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine

Elvis has been on tour one way or another since 1997. Firstly with his original TcB band & back up singers then later with the royal philharmonic orchestra doing arena shows. The U.K. Elvis fans are really excited about this especially as most of them weren’t of an age old enough to go and see him in concert!

No, this is a topic that is difficult to answer. Unfortunately, I will never have the chance to see Elvis live. I wish I did. So as long as I know what I’m getting into, that is, that it is a presentation, using technology, then I can live with it. It will be my decision to go or not go. as long as people know, upfront what it is, then they can make their own decision. If a well done, Elvis avatar show comes around, I would probably go just to experience even a glimmer of what it was like to see the king. Thanks, Michael.

It was plenty long enough ago that I, at the age of 10 in 1977 first learned of Elvis' death. My mother, a big fan, was quite dismayed and I'm sure so many of his fans were, and so many of them never got to see the King. I'd like to see it but, tbh I wouldn't really expect too much.

Hi Michael, I feel the same way you do. I grew up in Vegas and remember my older brother and his wife seeling Elvis at his last residency. I never saw him but wish now I had. We always had Elvis records in the house, and dad took us to all his movies at the drive in. I would only go to this if it was free & we both know that's not going to happen. Great job on this. Looking forward to discussing and ranking my Jimi Hendrix albums tonight. I hope you can make it.

@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine They've been trying to perfect this technology for years. If tickets for the Elvis AI are expensive and meet the demand, that means we will probably see it done with many other classic artists. It should be mind blowing or I don't believe they would be going forward with it. I don't think it is designed to replace live performances, but many people never got to experience Elvis or The Beatles "live" on stage. The ethics of AI is another thing entirely. However, the rock genre is rapidly aging. It is an opportunity to bring back the past, using technology they are going to use anyway, so we might as well get used to it. I am not putting it down before seeing it first. It might be amazing.

I refuse to pay good money for something that is not LIVE… I am somebody who appreciates the human element… I want to see live humans playing actual instruments, NO BACKING TRACKS EITHER… All this is doing is killing live music.. I will not acceptor pay for anything that is not live… I am a drummer and I appreciate the raw talent of a real band … if this type of show is what people want, that’s on them and to each there own.. I AGREE WITH YOU MICHEAL…!!! 100%

well back in the 90s they kinda did this with Elvis. I saw the world tour of " Elvis, the King in Concert " ( or something similar sounding ), where they showed Elvis live videos on three large screens and had his old touring band of James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, etc playing live along with the video. My final impression was that it was pretty good and better than nothing as I had never seen a real Elvis concert live. But with an Elvis avatar it's bound to look 99% life-like. well hopefully it will.

A live event to me is more bare, naked, honest, no lip syncing, no backing tracks, no AI controlling either the sound or movement of said characters. Good God Your born, you live, you die. The fear of death in this country is unbelievable. Your born you die What is in between Procreation Other than that We are just killing time. Time is no longer on my side. There's your answer And nobody retires. If I could I would

I believe there are only 2 rock acts that can entertain this kind of... lets say resurrection. Elvis and the Beatles. Any other bands don`t have the true legacy, the first blood , the original concept ( albeit not of their design ) or the impact. Any other acts are just being disrespected by the business and/ or family. If you didn`t see `em that is too bad indeed. But why go see something that will disappoint and drain your funds. Elvis and the Beatles are larger than life and I wish I could have seen them. I would go to a goush extravaganza of either, once . But any other band would be sad.

Just another cash grab. Disgusting. If you want to see Elvis, there is a ton of video of him to enjoy. Turn the volume up and see the REAL man performing, at all stages of his career.

If you all want to pay for this - well its your money. But you won’t catch me at an “avatar” performance. Hell, I won’t even go to a stadium show. Not interested. Music evolves. I will give my money to support newer up and comming bands. Why you ask? Because if no one does, we will have no choice but to watch avatar Elvis and avatar Kiss, cause there won’t be anything else.

It is soulless. Just images moving live but is all pretend because musicians behind the scenes are playing the music. Nothing real. Only positive is getting a nostalgic kick, getting to see a fav band play at their prime, but in the end it is just an image moving. Can't resurrect talent. Talking about talent, The Powers that be recycle past icons as they are now because deep down for them Humanity sucks and gen Z don't have the same as those past icons to make greatness, so it is better to invest money in the Avatar Grift that invest on a Gen Z who will never come up what TPTB know as great music. They know where to put their money that is for sure.
