I hadn't seen this doco before, but I do have Charlie's book, and it is one of my favorites about Elvis. I don't know why people refuse to believe Elvis had bone cancer, if Dr Nick had tests done on Elvis to diagnose. It would explain why Elvis was taking such high dose pain killers, the poor man. Along with the mega colon, which would have been excruciating at times, and the glaucoma, enlarged heart, is it any wonder he had trouble sleeping, and was in pain so much? And most people around him said he was taking too many pills, and was high on them, or drugged to the point where he couldn't function properly. He tried so hard to keep his illness from everyone so he could keep going, and look what it did to him. Years of criticism for drug taking. The poor, poor man, I could cry with the injustice. What a relief it must have been for his soul to depart that tired body.

@@TCB_MAMAI don't remember who told me this, it's been years ago. I think I heard it in an interview , could have been Lamar Fike or Sam Thompson I guess...I don't think Charlie was very credible, he might have lied or Vernon told Dr. Nick to say that to make it look serious. Who knows...after so many years...Kathy Westmoreland said as well in her book Elvis told her he had cancer...but I was never able to find out what is really the truth about this.

All the people who claimed they were Elvis' best friend, Charlie never claimed it, I think he was always the most low key of the people surrounding him. @@King._.MediaYT The Bone Cancer story has come from two sources who say that Elvis himself told them - Charlie Hodge and Kathy Westmoreland. Marty Lacker flatly denies it stating Vernon was worried about someone leaking sh*t to the press, so he started that rumour to see who would tell, but when Lacker was confronted by Kathy Westmoreland during an interview with Larry King, instead of reiterating what Vernon had done and why, Lacker instead changed his story to "Well Elvis had a good imagination". It made me wonder if Marty Lacker was being truthful because if what he had said in regards to Vernon and what he had done and why was true, then why didn't Lacker simply reiterate it? Also, with that change of story, he's actually suggesting Elvis told Kathy Westmoreland that story so he would garner sympathy and maybe get her to stay with him. Can anyone see Elvis doing that for that reason? He could still have any woman he wanted but not only that Kathy Westmoreland by all accounts was not only his girlfriend but she was also a very close friend of his, as was Linda Thompson, and I just can't envision Elvis doing that to a friend of his.

Elvis considered Charlie and many of the guys around him as "friends"....not sure they all deserved the title. They all exaggerated and blew their time with Elvis out of context...and weren't always honest in their "story telling". Elvis definitely had no plans nor intention to marry Priscilla.....the decision was never Elvis', a prime example of ignorance on Charlie's part on a lot of important things. For Charlie Hodge to promote Priscilla and André the Alien is another example of his close ties with the wrong parties, not necessarily always for Elvis. Elvis was too trusting and too kind for his own good. God Bless and Rest his soul 🕊️❤️⚡💯

It was 3yrs before Elvis ever saw her again. That's when she pleaded to be able to come for a visit during the summer. After she went back to Germany, she played the brat, told Elvis she was failing school and would not be able to graduate. Then pleaded for him to call her father to let her come live in Memphis. Elvis told her father, Priscilla could come live with his father and Dee's family and he would pay for her to go to a private catholic school in Memphis and make sure she graduated, Elvis was in CA. most all of this time filming movies. Priscilla decided she didn't like living at Vernon's and moved herself in Graceland without Elvis even knowing.

Elvis suffered with Ehler Danlos Syndrome, it is known in America as Rumotroid Arthritis. He had big nodules on his hands, fingers, neck, face, Legs, elbows. It was the primary cause of Elvis early death. He did not have bone cancer. He had a seizure which caused him to bite down on his tongue. Elvis was found on the bathroom floor on his back with his arms laying beside him with palms towards the sky. Ginger turned his head a little, air came from his nose and she opened his eyelid and his eye was red. This Syndrome is hereditary. He has a cousin whose daughter and her daughter suffer with this. It is very painful. That is why he was on the meds. His Dr. Was acquitted on 11 counts.

Unfortunately, you also betrayed Elvis, Charlie, and sided with Priscilla, playing along with her and distorting the truth about their relationship. Elvis never loved Priscilla, he was indifferent to her, we know very well the reason for his marriage to her. You're lying, Charlie, when you say Elvis was overwhelmed and decided to marry Priscilla. You did not protect Elvis's good name from any slander. You were never a real friend to Elvis. The whole "Memphis Mafia" thing was never worth Elvis's friendship. You were never worthy of Elvis' attention or his friendship. May your treachery and your lies remain forever with you and with Elvis' number one enemies named Priscilla and Parker.

@ValeSan-ir8on Wow! That's some attack on Charlie Hodge. There were two people in the Memphis Mafia who were loyal to Elvis Presley to their graves and that was Joe Esposito and Charlie Hodge. Lamar, Red, Sonny, Billy Smith and Marty Lacker who liked to call themselves "The Original Memphis Mafia" were a clique in the Memphis Mafia and they all dumped on Elvis Presley's Legacy, and reputation. Joe Esposito's second wife, Martha, was diagnosed with an incurable Cancer and so Joe was in desperate need to pay for her medical bills, but instead of writing a tell all book which would have got him millions, he instead wrote a book that was of love and respect. Yeah he told some home truths to speak of but nothing that wasn't already known, but he never expressed them with a bitterness and revenge, he expressed them with respect and love. Charlie had nothing but good things to say about Elvis - he never disrespected him or his legacy and he ahs shown his Love for Elvis Presley time and time and time again. That he thought Elvis and Priscilla were in love, why is he betraying Elvis by believing such a thing? I only know Prisclla never loved Elvis because of what she has revealed over the years, but I don't know at all whether or not Elvis loved Priscilla at one time or another... There might have been a time when he did...... who knows....

@@Della624no. Joe was NOT a "friend" to Elvis behind his back. Apart from his own blood cousins and relatives, Elvis Presley knew exactly what the men around him were about. Charlie Hodge was loyal until after Elvis died....then he, along with Jerry Schilling became Priscilla's lackeys for financial and other gains. Esposito was always in cahoots with Priscilla and André the Alien to manipulate Elvis....no, they were not deserving of the title of "friend" to Elvis in the end. Elvis gave them all the benefit of the doubt....to his own detriment. Sad, really.

You can tell the slightest bit of plastic surgery on his face took away from Elvis. Notice that one picture with Charlie in the car? That looks like post plastic surgery that Elvis did not need. Gingers book cover also has Elvis post surgery with his eyes. Notice his eyes are not the same.

Charlie Hodge & Elvis were destined to meet and became very close friends. Charlie sang harmony so beautifully on stage with The King. Elvis was lucky to have such a loyal friend in Charlie. R.I.P Charlie Hodge a true Gentle Humble Man. God bless his family who can be so proud of him.❤️❤️❤️❤️
