Rory and Mal might have made some big errors along the way but I don’t think they were dudes will bad intentions and I think Joe was the main problem, anyone doubting that now is delusional. Something still tells me this guy has a slight bias towards the wrong people though, because he literally hyped up AK and CTG as if they’re not cringe douchebags themselves and I got the vibe he doesn’t like Rory, which I don’t understand tbh, Rory doesn’t do anything to be majorly disliked (in the perspective of people that don’t know him)

Watching this months later, it's very eye opening. A cautionary tale warning against assuming friendship with someone. Throughout the whole ordeal, i blindly sided, and still side with Rory and Mal, but i am keen to learn from their mistakes. Rory mentioned it best on the point of friendships ruining businesses and businesses ruining friendships. Ignored subliminals about the friendship, or lack thereof, if addressed may have spared plenty of hurt. For Rory and Joe, i feel the business did not start because they were friends...the friendship started because there was business. For Mal and Joe, many assumptions about the business, on both sides, went unaddressed because of the long-term friendship, leading to the demise of both the friendship and business.

Ross, to be fair, you skip over the fact that Rory tried to bring stuff to the table on behalf of the podcast, but Joe would bug out on him for it. Unless by "having something of his own", you mean something separate outside the podcast, which even then, he has Dussepalooza (until the pandemic) and the group he manages and whatever else on the music side. Also, it should be noted that the split was likely inevitable anyway by even Rory and Mal themselves, as they figured Joe would attempt to make them take a salary pay once their contracts ended, which he knows they would never go for, thereby purposefully pushing them out.

@@avace917 I never said you didn't have a right to express it. I just called it worthless criticism. Also, criticism can absolutely be worthless. For instance screaming "UR FAT" is technically criticism of a person, well their appearance anyways. But its not exactly worth anything. This comment is very similar in the way its worthless. Telling someone "I don't like you having personality or opinions just stick to the facts" isn't exactly very useful criticism. Especially on youtube a platform where any type of content you can imagine has entire communities of people doing that very thing. So a person's personality and style is what sets them apart. Trap lore for instance makes jokes about everyone. His personality and style is what sets him apart. Joe seems like a classic narcissist. I've had loads of experience with this type of personality. Highly motivated, massive egos, perfectionistic, can be extremely dynamic and loveable/charming at times. They are only ever looking out for the most important person - themselves and what they can get out of the people and situations they're in. Every interpersonal drama is easily explained as the other person's issues. There's never accountability or ownership. They are basically clueless how people really feel about them or just don't care. Joe will never change. He'll keep sabotaging his life and never really learn. This whole thing is crazy. I was a huge fan of Joe Buddens channel since it was called "Cheah 201" and even there for episode 1 of the podcast. To see how it went from underground to such a huge podcast is amazing, that being said....Joe fucked them over man. I can't even enjoy the shit no more, they all 3 built this shit. Not just him, his ego destroyed it tho. People discredit Rory but his witty humor and slick side comments are what amplifies they jokes on the show

I agree and am also a day 1 JBP listener, was legit my fave pod ever and gave me so many great laughs. I’ve sided with Rory and Mal but their dynamic without Joe is just ok to me, will never be as funny as all of them together so I’m just gonna have to retire my Stan status I think.

Joe is the podcast. Rory and Mal were adlibs ... I thought it would be difficult to keep watching...and its almost the same......it reminds me of the five heartbeats....big Red said, "Eddie is the Heartbeats, the other guys can be replaced with anyone"
