My exact position too. I think the characters are very competently written, with traits that express themselves in both positive and negative ways. it's pretty close to believable. However, i've always hated high school girls. (condescending, vapid, not interested in whether goku could beat up superman) There is no reason for me to like a show about high school girls living highschool girl life.

I think this is the exact way people should think about opinions and not - you are wrong only my opinion matters and is in right - because that is just dumb and childish. First of all: I think the question is why did you take us to your bathroom? And Secondly: I have actually been considering beginning an analysis channel of my own, because it's something I feel I could do really well, and it's because of the same reasons you have in this video. I have been a very stubborn and argumentative person for a long, long time, and so much so that I really don't know why I didn't take Debate in high school. And I think I've already been analyzing anime for some time anyways, I'm part of an anime fan page and just searching my name, I can find several instances of me making analytical style posts, and most recently I posted on MAL for RE: Zero's 18th episode a strong rant about how what happened that episode didn't make any coherent sense, and it pissed me off. So right now I am looking into video cameras and microphones, and just maybe I'll start something soon.

If you stepped into the realm of analyzing philosophers and complex novels, then I would be impassioned to make some type of thing to respond to your criticism of it. But man, with anime, its like whatever. However, as a guy who doesn't usually watch anime, couple months ago you said in passing HunterxHunter was great (tournament arc chart from asterisk war series videos and other little mentions) and I decided to watch it. I ended up marathoning all 148 episodes and it was pretty amazing. Thanks for that. This is a point of view I can't agree with. The kind of things that influence people on a daily basis - whether we like it or not - are in the everyday things we watch. These are the most influential things in our lives. Without analysis of it and the few anime creators who do want to make something incredible, the entire field of anime would simply be consumed by cliche garbage. The same can go for any form of media. On top of that, analyzing philosophers doesn't automatically make you amazing nor does it make it relevant. While there are many amazing things said by philosophers, there is so much that's been left behind in the dust that really doesn't feel as relevant anymore. For example, while I think Platotonic ideals are really interesting, there's a lot of political jargon spoken by Plato that no one would give any mind to these days, especially his stuff on class, slavery, and how they a majority of people don't get to take part in the system. It's like Gandalf says in The Hobbit adaptation (which in it of itself isn't very good, but has its moments), true goodness is found in everyday actiosn.

+CORF That's rad! Personally, I think the commentary on jingoism/fanaticism alone are enough to make the game good, although there's so much more that you could dig into.
@CORF.8 жыл бұрын
+B10NIC PIZZA Exactly. I argued the commentary is so impactful because through Booker the player gets an almost completely objective point of view of the two clashing factions and gets to see the worst of both when at their ideological extremes. Since his personal goals are the top priority to the player while playing, Booker's outsider perspective is for the most part unbiased (he ends up fighting practically everyone at some point), which allows the player to take in the social commentary present in the "secondary" story without it feeling like they're being fed an agenda by the writers.

I pretty much overanalyze everything I watch and read and am exposed to on the internet (As you said before I love it and I'd rather not turn my brain off, its just my default mode), and I always end up having very specific and very (how i feel) logical negative and/or positive opinions about the things that I watch. The thing is, I haven't really sat and thought about how or why I analyze so much, and I haven't really written any of it down, so I most of the time don't remember or don't bother to mark it as something I should write down so I often express these sentiments and end up unloading all of my uhm, over analysis even in casual conversations and most of my friends (excluding one) just stop responding to me because I guess I'm too much. But you like, perfectly word out the complete shitstorm of criticism of things in my head, so when I watch your videos I feel like I'm simultaneously listening to my own organized thoughts and also having a pleasantly energized conversation. Also how you feel about how you look at things is exactly how I feel about how I look at things. Sometimes I feel like my friends think I'm some giant egotistical pretentious nerd, but I'm really just trying to engage with my friends on a deeper level conversationally. I don't think theyre wrong (well maybe yes I do but I feel like thats sort of how opinions work), I just feel like they should maybe look at things beyond the surface. Thanks for helping me relate lmao.
@onimaxblade89888 жыл бұрын
Yo, man, I feel the same way. I ALWAYS want people to understand me and my opinions. That's EXACTLY why I have conversations about media with people, and try debating a refuting their opinion if I don't agree. And I ALWAYS know, if I think about it, I can find out why I disagree with someone or something and explain it. Usually, people end up understanding where I come from and we agree to have different view points. Sometimes people just say I wanna be right...well, yes, I would prefer if Im right most of the time. People say that as an excuse or escape when they cannot manage to convince me at all on their opinion, and I point out the flaws in it. That's the thing: I want to be right. But I don't HAVE to be right. I've had my mind changed plenty of times by people, but way more often than not, they fail, or rather, barely try to back their opinion, and describe their feelings for something. I've had similar instances to that too. Relateable video. Wanting to understand others, and wanting people to understand yourself, are great reasons to make the videos you do.

Idk how much I agree with this. I don't think there is such a thing as being "wrong" in these cases. I agree that I can relate to the desire to show someone where your coming from, so that they don't think your wrong, and I agree that explaining somthing can open ones eyes to the worth of a work to the point where they may begin to like it, but I don't like the idea that the person is wrong until proven otherwise. the idea that either I am right or you are right points to the concept of there being an objective truth about the works worth, which I don't think there is. if someone comes to understand why a work is beloved, but cannot come to enjoy the work that way, he is not wrong about his opinion of disliking the show, it is simply not to his taste, that's good enough for me. I feel the goal here should be to combat ignorance, to make sure as many people as possible understand what there is to each work, and how it can be interpreted.

Ever heard of the backfire effect though? "When your deepest convictions are challenged by contradictory evidence, your beliefs get stronger." That's one problem I always have. Because you might think you made the best argument imaginable but if the opposition still disagrees it brings up the question of whether your opponent was just stupid and ignoring facts and logic or if your argument wasn't as good as you thought it was. It's always easier to just say your opponent was stupid and ignorant and from personal experience that's what usually happens when I debate someone I strongly disagree with, but I always consider and examine the latter and I think it's important everyone else does too. If your opponent DOES change their mind after you've made your argument it brings up two other possibilities to examine: Was your opponent just a misguided person capable of seeing reason and recognizing their own faults or were they weak minded and easily swayed? Again from personal experience I find the former to be the case generally but just like the first scenario it's important to consider and examine the latter. In other words: Self-awareness is key.

I'm not entirely serious btw, as I know that this is relying on digis long term memory and the reliability of it is like a 60%.

Both were good consoles as someone who played both i never had a nerd defensive argument as a kid i feel incomplete then again i never defend shit in general but i enjoy people fighting over why things suck and why things are good and them comparing them without a single motive makes me find out about awesome stuff

the ps2 didn't even have super smash bros, how was there ever even an argument?
@Anticitizen5468 жыл бұрын
Whether someone chooses to change their mind is not entirely dependent on the quality of an opposing argument. Me, Digibro, and everybody in this comment section has biases that will never be overcome by argument, no matter how strong. For a person to claim otherwise is to claim that they truly are "objective," and I think most of us are in agreement about that. I respect the attempt to present a counterpoint to someone's analytical dislike, but the end goal of that counterpoint should not be to convince the person that their dislike is wrong, rather to present the opposing view so that a viewer can see which perspective makes more sense to them.

but you know, it's not about being right or wrong. when it comes to subjective things like stories, if someone else is trying to convince you that their opinion is valid, you'll NEVER be convinced if you dive in with a contentious mindset. no one can convince you of an opinion like they can convince you of a fact. you can only ever sympathize with their opinion if you actively, try to understand it, or if their opinion is already similar to yours to begin with
