I think the emperor would be to practical to go against the inquisition in present 40k. I imagine he'd most likely make up as a new ordo under his direct oversight to rein in Inquisitors who go to far or are lost. Unlike in TTS the emperor wouldn't..... do everything all at once when everything is on a constant balance act.
@DocWolph Жыл бұрын
If the Emperor came back, he might not need to do much more than reiterate Malcador's original mission statement for the Inquisition. With his word being law, the Inquisition would tear itself apart cleaning house. Few living would be brought to justice and those left would simply be brought to a new understanding that they are NO LONGER above everyone, and that the Emperor can and will put someone over them for no other reasons than HE CAN. This humility, especially if the Emperor issues direct orders of elimination on Inquisitors who go too far and/or wide, would reform the Inquisition within a few generations.

I’m inclined to agree, once more Puritan and radical elements have been removed. Ignoring the dozens of minor ordos, grey knights / malleus just need reigning in and depending on if the imperium is aware of the warp at this point could stop them purging everyone that heard of a guy that seen a thing described by the son of the man who may of been on the planet with a daemon. The Ordo Xenos would not experience much change currently apart from a possible removal of the more radical inquisition elements and an expansion of its martial arm and the possible reinstatement of some legion size forces/creation of (even 10000 - 20000 marines is allot and the size of a small legion), the Ordo hereticus however are too intertwined with the imperial church, even if the emperor returns as a god he won’t want them reading from one of Logan’s books, if just a godly powerful immortal being again the Ordo may cease to exist or undergo a complete reworking but their military arm the sisters are likely to be repurposed if they can accept the reinstated imperial truth. Which as the black Templars are likely to accept this I feel most sisters orders would and would then just revere the emperor in another way, (insert golden abs statues here ) I dare say though the nids would be his main focus before chaos but you can be damn sure the league of Votan would be on his shit list. 😂. *I really hate autocorrect when it comes to 40k…*

They really, really, really need to bring Russ back. The whole Inquisition narrative can't really be followed up on unless there is someone with nearly absolute authority who would have no issue with open conflict against them. Leman Russ is really the only character who could fill that role. Guilliman is too much of an administrator to shake the system up. El'Johnson is focused on his own priorities. But Russ has the rebellious spirit necessary to stand up to the Inquisition, a personal reason to take up a righteous cause (months of shame), and the innate authority as a Primarch to rally enough forces to actually resist the Inquisition And I'm also hoping for a scene where some cloaked assassin thinks they got the drop on Russ, forgetting that the Space Wolves senses are already sharper than what their armor can enhance, and Russ's are sharper still. Cue Russ spinning around, reaching into seemingly empty air, and wrapping his fist around an assassin's throat.

He'd completely see that they are necessary but not answering to anyone he would not approve of. Whilst he was around everyone answered to him, or Malcador. I'm curious what will happen as more Primarchs return. Guilliman as regent with the back up of a couple of brothers could properly hold the Inquisition to account, as some of their actions ARE unforgivable. One is Inquisitor sold out like 12 planets simply to talk to a gretchen close to a warboss.

It's a lot more complicated then that. There's a whole theory that the Emperor can see the future and doesn't take actions which would lead to the worse outcomes. That's why he assigns custodians to individuals who are desitined to do something important, even the lowest ranking guardsman can be protected. He also has way more bigger threats to assess the inquisition like the Chaos Gods who will combat his revival.
@TheSpicyLeg Жыл бұрын
@@Ak-6969Correct. So many people can’t understand that being morally good does not mean always being good. A great hypothetical I often use to illustrate this point is to ask the person: If you were teleported back in time to Hitler’s birth, and know what you know now, would you kill the infant? Of course, they would. Then I call them a baby killer and watch their brains melt. The Emperor is always seeing a future, and sometimes bad things in the future are averted by bad things now.

Annoying part of Spanish Inquisition it was a nearly 400 year period and only 150,00 were prosecuted (not killed thing about Hersey back then most people didn't know they were commiting Hersey and they didn't want to kill the faithful most punishments were some for of public shaming/atonement) And only between 3,000 and 5,000 were executed (which the church couldn't actually do it was the local authority/royalty that did so).... for reference the mostly secular French Revolution killed that many in a month (don't even get started about Atheist China and Soviets) but sure religion bad.

I think the Emperor, if he returned in full, would want to reorganise the imperium now into a civilisation much like the interex. He once tried to deny the existence of chaos with the imperial truth (while being fully aware of it). I think now he'd choose to make the imperium something its people could be proud of and wouldn't want to rebel against, while making its citizens active and knowledgable in the fight against chaos. You can't really hide chaos and that is evident in 40k. Although i think the inquisition would stay until he came up with something better, because its easy to list off their crimes but its also true they've been there throwing down with everyone and hard carrying the imperium for 10000 years

I think it would be another example of the EoM's hypocrisy. Since He would allow it since it was in 'His' name. I also would argue that in fact the EoM did/allowed things just as questionable as the Inquisition in his past and during the Unification Wars/Great Crusade. We must always go back to the why all the other Perpetuals except Ada and Astartes abandoned or out right fought against the EoM. Because for all the EoM talk about the evil's of the past, He had no problem doing it again, as He said in the 'Last Church', its different from the others of the past because He is right/correct. This is why I would love to see Perpetuals return in some form to the setting. It would give us almost a Highlander like sense of EoM, along with other Perpetuals. Giving us context as to why He and the other Perpetuals did what they did. Hell you could even have Guillemin rediscover a lost Human civilized world from DAoT. That had one of first Perpetuals to abandon the EoM living on it. He or she could even not hate the EoM and still consider Him a good friend. Just that they couldn't accept the cost to Humanity and their own soul that the EoM 'Revelation' would take. You could even have this Perpetual join Guillemin after finding out what happen to EoM and His plans after he left. Saying that he may not agree with what the EoM eventually did. But in these dark days he not abandon His friend's son in his hour of needed. So this Perpetual would help Guillemin and the IoM in any way he could. But that in private Guillemin would get just as much an ear full of complaints about this Imperium of Man and what was wrong/needed to change. As he gave the EoM when he was still with Him in his quest. So almost an audience proxy that could be saying 'WTF' at some of more outrageous stuff in 40k.

I highly doubt he'd be shocked. The guy has seen stuff. And was involved in a lot of questionable things himself. I think he's rather annoyed with the whole thing, but big E never had a problem with being worshiped as a god. His problem was how easy it is to corrupt a faith into directions which feed the Chaos gods. The Imperial Truth was an educated gamble at starving out the big four Chaos gods. It failed. He doesn't strike me as the guy who'd cripple his Empire by going to war against the Inquisition and Ecchlesiarchy just so he doesn't become a hypocrite. Instead he'll take more direct control of them.

Humans no matter how educated they become, no matter cultivated through culture they are. Humans are still animals, the moment a controlling presence is, the moment it looks away even for the briefest of time, it will give in to it's instinctual ways. It may try justifying it self with fancy words or self deluding arguments that it may think are sound and just. I can't help but wonder if the emperors grand design would still have eventually collapsed in upon itself, even if the horus herecy hadn't happened.
