You are way too charitable with this show. This was by far the worst season of any show that I’ve ever seen. One example would be the explanation of Annie’s tongue is “well some questions just don’t have answers okay!?!!”

Annie’s tongue was there to prove that the supernatural ghost thing is “real” in the story, imo. Yeah it was a pretty poor season overall, but you must not have seen Fear the Walking Dead season 8 haha

Yeah that is one interpretation, don’t know if I agree with that one, but it’s fair to come away with that.

Maybe I missed it but Otis is introduced because he has the same injuries as the scientists but they never explain how he got the injuries?

Good question. They never did explain it explicitly, but I’m assuming that he got those injuries when he was in the cave after “waking up” the supernatural entity.

5:24 I enjoyed the first 5 episodes but really disliked this finale. From the opening scene, I was distracted by dumb choices Danvers and Navarro were making. Like you pointed out, I couldn't believe these two intelligent women would enter a dangerous cave system without any climbing gear-not even rope! What if there had been a 20-foot drop after breaking open a hole to enter the system? Also, why did they keep splitting up inside Tsalal? Why leave Clark alone to go eat Funions? It was like they suddenly started using horror movie logic. I usually avoid nitpicking, but these actions made the women seem uncharacteristically foolish. It felt like the creators hastily wrote this ending and lacked time to polish it. The other seasons were 8 episodes. Do we know if Night Country was originally planned to be the same length? A lot is resolved without paying off the complexity teased in prior episodes. Last episode, Peter accused his wife of resenting their marriage, but now they're fine and it isn't brought up again. We finally learn that Navarro killed Wheeler with no warning (risking everything), yet Danvers trusts her to not harm Clark now. We learn that Annie was murdered by a scientist with seemingly every other scientist assisting without hesitation or debate. Just...a bunch of men capable of brutal murder without any signs of remorse. Also the flashback of Annie's murder doesn't seem to line up with her smartphone recording of her own murder. Danvers and her daughter reconcile, but we never learn why Liz objected to Leah's desire to connect with her culture in the first place (which is what was dividing them). I guess Liz worried it would bring Leah into conflict with the mine? Would've been nice to pay off all those prior character moments with...like...a scene of mother and daughter talking it out. I appreciate what they were going for and mostly liked the season, but boy this was a shaky landing, lol.

Lots of good points! Horror movie logic for sure. Yeah I was thinking about the phone today. How did it end up in the trailer? Guess it was just another supernatural thing lol. Using that as a crutch.
