Buddy the mold can be treated, I mean if you like the place it shouldn’t be too costly to put a new roof in, you will have to gut the walls but if it’s already cheap materials (even with price hikes) it wouldn’t be terrible to redo plus you could put your own spin on it. My family’s company does flips all the time, on the off chance you have any questions just holler at me. I’m sure you have your people and have already considered options but Reno’s are fun and can be super worth it and rewarding

To expensive for any material right now
@devincarter60052 жыл бұрын
@@scooter8567 everything’s expensive now, cough “fjb” cough. But, it all depends on area and how much he loves the place. Prices fluctuate and sentiments sometimes matter more than said fluctuations. Not to mention that the property will sell better if and when he does the repairs anyways. Selling as is right now would be the biggest financial loss imo. Not even sure if you can sell a home with mold present, quite sure that wouldn’t pass in my state but there are different codes I’d assume

@@scooter8567 I doubt price is too much of an issue. Not like he’s too bad off financially. He has multiple properties and a barn you can literally live in. Redoing a small cabin is chump change man.

Hey John have been watching your videos since I was in middle school (now having finished my freshman year of college) and I love your content. You have inspired me to further my bass fishing knowledge which led me to buying my first dc reel and musky set up. Thank you for the phrase never stop fishing as it has always kept me on the water.

Jon there are many ways to solve the mold and warped walls without demolition. You should strip back the walls and ceiling to see what the issues are then plan from there. I see some have mentioned Main Cabin Masters and that would also be a great idea. Great videos, love the channel.

gud choice regarding the mold. my daughter was constantly sick wen she was younger n nobody gud figure out why until a builder mate came n said we have a mold problem n it all click. he told us we had 3 choices, sell up n start again, mow the house down n rebuild or reno. he didnt recommend reno simple because the house over looks the beach n ocean in Queensland Australia so the choice was easy, mow flat n rebuild, all gud after that.

As my first inclination to the mold and warping is with the type of wood- that cabin may need to be heated through winter. It may also be the case with the barn as well going forward. (i.e maintaining a minimal temperature)

If your tareing a large chunk down you should pour a basement on that side and foundation. That way the foundation will last forever. That will give you more room for everything. You will have apace for a washer and dryer heater electric box water heater and furnace. Making the upper that much bigger. Plus with the kid you will need more room for storing toys and stuff.
