You are right about how Season 1's last episode had a narrative by Miyamura imaging what might have been if he & Hori didn't meet, and that this season, we have Hori's perspective. The interesting thing about this, is that while last season's narrative by Miyamura is in the manga, this season's narrative by Hori is NOT in the manga. Also Hori's narrative in the 1st episode of this season in not in the manga. So it's really cool that they created both these narratives just for this anime. The manga has about 145 chapters and they used about 55 chapters for Season 1 and 50 chapters for Season 2. So they might be able to squeeze out another season. Although, I don't know if some of the chapters that weren't used were that interesting and 16 of those chapters were all about a dreamworld of Toru's where he dreamed of his friends as cat people. However, one chapter that I really wish they had included in the anime had Hori at Miyamura's home and interacting with his mom. There wasn't very much of Miyamura's mom in the manga, so that was a really precious interaction. There are also a couple of chapters that show mostly Sota 10 years in the future. So if ever feel a need for a Horimiya fix, there's still a bunch of content in the manga that would be worth checking out! 😍

I LOVED how they did this finale from Hori’s perspective. Loved how they mirrored last season’s finale but flipped it to her perspective. Loved how Hori’s perspective went back to her thought of how even if that one little happenstance didn’t happen, destiny would bring them together. Which is how her dream went. Loved it

the ending wass so perfect. the ending for last season with miyamuras confession was my best romancce moment. but i wondered what the studio would do for this seasons ending and they nailed it. putting horis perspective about miya was the sweetest thing ever. this has made me love romance so much. ill never get close to the romance they have saldy because i dont have much to live :)

It's so rough for me cause I can never watch the ending of the first season without tearing up. Watching this ending with a friend, I teared up as soon as I realized they were doing the "alt universe" part again, and then they gave us an anime original monologue from Hori. We were silent and tearing up for the last 10 minutes. Now I have two finales that never fail to make me cry watching it

Guys just remember that Kyoko's final speech it's completely original and was written especially for Missing Pieces season, it doesn't appear in the original manga, only Miyamura speech does (S1 Final).

Yeah the first season did feel more geared to Miyamura's POV and the Missing Pieces season felt a little more geared to Hori's POV. And now, having seen that finale scene from both perspectives, is something truly beautiful that only this show could’ve managed to pull off twice.

in the manga there was actually alot more miya x hori moments like super sweet ones where hori was really vocal abt her feelings towards miya like how she actually was against him getting more piercings bcus of why he used to get them and didnt want him w more scars (just one out of alot of cute moments) so i def recommend u read the manga too

Great show. Not sure what you have planned next to replace Horimiya, but if you don’t have anything lined up, I recommend Tomo-Chan is a girl, if you haven’t seen it yet. I believe you may prefer more adult romcoms but think the characters are great.

@@mezacharia This actually helps a lot! As much as I love Horimiya, it was harder for me to engage with Pieces because they didn't seem to have the progression and arc that the first season had. I mostly want to try to watch them in order to see if giving them more context fixes it for me 🤔
