I used to use indeed labs, and I wanted to keep loving them because they’re Canadian (got to support my own) but I just couldn’t handle the awful texture of many of their products. I used the hydraylon jelly and serum and they pill so bad. You absolutely cannot wear it under makeup. Same thing with the vitamin c24 serum. The texture is just not nice at all. The only products I’d use again is their 10balm which is like a lotion/cream and the lip plumping balm. Also didn’t mind the collagen serum. Those are the only product that absorbed into my skin. The hyrdalon jelly/serum felt like it was a film on top of my skin 🤢 Edit: I use their powder exfoliator and it’s amazing. It has rice bran extract, hyaluronic acid and pineapple enzymes. It’s the only product I use of theirs now. Forgot they were the same company lol!

The Coconut Based surfactant in Hydraluron Cream Cleanser is COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE. In 2004 the American Contact Dermatitis Society voted it to be “Allergen of the year” (quite dramatic and not fully deserved IMO, especially compared to later studies, but it's signalising the problem). It's true that it's gentle and non irritating ingredient, but allergy for it is quite common and if you have such allergy, it can cause rash, itching, breakouts etc. And it's used widely in shampoos, shower gels and face cleansers marketed as natural or for allergy-prone skin. The reactions are often not very severe (so it makes it hard to pin them to COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE), but it can seriously affect the condition of your skin during longer period of time (unfortuantely learned from my own experience).

One of the great things about brands like The Ordinary is that they recognise there are quite a few people out there who prefer not to use animal-derived ingredients and they clearly mark their vegan products. They had Resistance booster which was a one of a kind product. It calmed skin to the point where I have a normal shade face not all kinds of red. They had discontinued it and brought nothing similar! The green cream from them is waste of money. Thin version of play-h-dough. Other boosters are meh.

My focus, as far as skincare, is expensive sunscreen, retin A and lash serum. I have been intrigued by vitamin c but didn’t really want to buy vitamin c because of the cost and the extra step. YES! MORE INDEED! I love their watermelon cleansing balm. It took off even a full face of Halloween makeup and the most stubborn waterproof mascaras. Also loving the cream cleanser fairly recently and the pepta bright serum is amazing!

5:17 vitamnin C is ascorbic acid. and yes they are a antoxidant, but a arcorbic acid serum water based is a no go the c24 serum is alot better.

@@blueladybug4767 Sanctuary Spa Melt Away Cleansing Oil. I used it for a couple days because my usual oil hadn’t arrived yet and my skin looked red but I didn’t think too much of it. I did the cleansing oil technique and the next day my skin was still red with bumps that got worse.. it made my face burn at the slightest touch, the acne got terrible and the spots darkened even though I didn’t touch them. Two months later after using medicine and very expensive skincare (some recommended by James) I got rid of some of the sensitivity and the bumps on my forehead but my skin still looks terrible, riddled with acne and the patches on my cheeks are very dark purple.

@supps Looked it up because of your comment and you're right. Lol. The 1st ingredient is mineral oil (as in baby oil) and the rest is pretty much essential oils.

Love indeed labs and I think they are canadian too! Their exfoliating powder called exfoliator too is my fav physical exfoliant. And much cheaper than the dermalogica one.

Omg James! I have the hydaluron facial spray and holy shit just it makes my face beet red! And I am not a sensitive skin type! I wanted it to work do well since I love the nanoblur. I mean BEET RED! I think it’s the butterfly bush extract- what the fuck is that anyway?!
