Always loved the ending of 3.3. Count Edmonts narration being shown has his memoirs as he finally closes the book, it always gets me, especially now with his VA passing. RIP Stephen Critchlow

You probably missed it, but apparently after this cutscene and the first time you go to Azys Lla, the flowers are at the base of the aetheryte. They're for Ysayle.

The lyrics of Dragonsong kicking in the moment you absorb Hraesvelgr's eye is one of my favorite moments in this game. You can now literally hear the song the dragons constantly refer to, the deep turmoil swelling in the hearts of both greatwyrms over the conflicts of the past. Your heart is now attuned to them and their kind, forever bound.

Now that you have completed 3.3 I would suggest picking up the quest "The Paths We Walk" which is available from the House Fortemps Manservant at Fortemps Manor. It is just a normal quest, but it serves as a bit off a bookend to the whole of the Heavensward expansion.

I mean, the patch MSQs for Stormblood is pretty emotional too. SB might be not as good as the rest, but their patch quests are not something to scoff at.

The chasm surrounding Ishgard is a torrent of wind and ice aspected aether so dangerous that even dragons must respect it, which is probably why it was considered a safe way to dispose of them. I also think that the danger of keeping them and risking another possession favored getting rid of them quickly. Another round with Nidhogg after that would have been disastrous.

If youve been a drg since the beginning, you got an extra line of dialogue where Estinien recognizes you an another azure dragoon. It's an "oh, you leveled that, let us show you that we see it" kind of thing. Edit: oh, there it is, I typed too early. "'Tis an honor to share the mantle of Azure Dragoon with one such as you."

To be fair the abyss is saturated in corrupted ice and wind aether (an NPC in ishgard near the gate confirms as much), so much so a dragon or man cannot move freely without being shifted by the winds and frozen solid by the cold. Indeed, the abyss is so inhospitable that nothing made of living flesh can reach them, not even a body possessed by an Asian.

Heavensward and Ishgard is my second favorite Expansion, I still have to finish up Shadowbringers and get into Endwalker in my own playthrough, but currently can't afford a sub+retainers that I have. I'm hoping to get back into the game soon though. Great reaction.

You know...looking back, Heavensward was truly special. It really was the moment I fell in love with the game. I mean it was good before that, as I am an FF guy, and the references are cool- but HW was when I was convinced that the story told in this game was worth the time.

Heavensward will always have a special place in my heart. The dragon story is remarkable. Side note if you play dragoon when Estenian wakes, then lays his mantle down, he then calls you the Azure Dragoon. Every character in the story is irreplaceable, in my opinion.
