This is incredibly sad. A close friend of mine has had a shop in NY for 10 years give or take. The last 3 years have been him struggling to keep the shop afloat with empty shelves and trying to sell the juice he was still able to get in from manufacturers from the back room. I miss how it used to be. I miss vaping being a hobby, with constant inovation in the industry. I miss being able to go on youtube and watch vape reviews, and trick videos. It's just all gone. They took everything from us. I always said that if my boy ever closed his doors, that would probably be the day I quit vaping. That reality seems to be getting closer and closer by the week.

@@Nicktrito Yeah I do this for a hobby. Not addiction nor drug something. Well maybe my English is bad But I want to address clearly. Vaping causes depression and diacytel something can wreck vapers's lungs like popcorn lungs. I think you're pissed off but thankfully I only laugh and get satisfied with my E Pipe.

@@Nicktrito I once visited a regular vaping store. I vaped and I didn't feel much pleasure as my natural tobacco leaves and E Pipe. Vaping shouldn't be consumed in inhaling like ciggies. Just puff If don't believe in this, search about vaping addiction. Also too much nicotine will harm our gum.
@Nicktrito
@Nicktrito 2 жыл бұрын
@@JinnYoungKim It truly does sound like you're the uneducated one here. Diacetyl was an issue with eliquid back in th early boom of vaping over 5 years ago. It hasn't been used in flavors since then. So you stay puffing on your E Pipe that no one cares about or asked you about, and when you decide to do some current research on vaping you can get back to me. Im mad because my state of NY took away flavors to try and get people to go back to smoking cigs. Why? Because vaping pure tobacco and menthol tastes like absolute ass. If these are the only flavor options, it means more people would turn back to smoking regular cigarettes (which are way worse for you than vaping in case your research from 5 years ago didn't tell you that). The government wants to end vaping because they don't make that same sweet sweet tax money that they do off cigs. Again, keep puffing your dick pipe, and save the vaping conversation for people that are actually knowledgeable in the hobby.

I miss it too. 2011-2015 was just an amazingly fun time, with new stuff coming in droves, and the sense of community was STRONG. 15-17/18 were also great, with HUGE strides in the way of available options. It just kept getting better and better, and every day was a bit more fun than the last. The Golden Years, for sure. No, we can't turn back the clock to any of that. That's not to say that it can't return, and be great, but nothing will ever compare to those early years (IMO).

Wow, the 100th comment! I deserve something for that. Seriously, though. I didn’t come here for accolades. I came here to share what vaping has meant to me, and what your channel has meant to me. I’ve never smoked a day in my life (unless you count secondhand smoke from my granny) but after a slight bit of coaxing from my wife, I started, just as a hobby. She started vaping because she discovered CBD was good for asthma. I’m a mild asthmatic myself so I gave it a shot and it really helped. Channels like yours and like Rip Trippers, Zophie Vapes, Wendy Vapes, or really anything that ended in vapes, always excited me, always had me clamoring for more content. One channel that I was absolutely in love with was Ryan Hall. Of course, I think we all of his channel. I couldn’t wait to see another vlog/raw vlog, to see into his life and his world in Pikeville, KY. I’ve been tried to emulate what he did on his channel with my own, but not nearly as successfully. It was awesome seeing his vape shop, and the multitude of employees he had. And then, KZbin slapped him… Hard! He started deleting nearly everyone of the 600+ videos he had once posted, the ones that he put so much time and effort into. Today, my biggest shock. All of the videos that he was a part of, all the ones that had him in them, gone. I was crushed. Luckily, I’ve managed to save a handful of them but the ones that were most enjoyable are just gone now. Sorry about that tangent. I know a lot of you. KZbinrs gathered together in Washington to make your voice is heard. And I appreciate you for that. But everything has slowly been taken away from us all. My wife, during the heyday of the vaping craze, managed to stockpile tons of bottles of vape juice. It’s probably not worth vaping now and might not be vape-able. She stocked up on disposal tanks as well. Those were such great times. I’ve gone back to look at Ryan’s old channel and it’s just not the same. Bless Jarek and Kade. They’re doing the best they can. All I’m trying to say is I miss the heyday of vaping and KZbin videos about vaping. I keep wishing someone would find all of their old videos and post them on a platform like Odyssee. You guys just keep up the work you’re doing. It’s nice to go back and reminisce.

I figured that sooner or later Health Canada would put an all out flavor ban on Vape products, while in the same breath allowing flavored alcohol to remain untouched. Well, maybe it's time for all Vapers to ban together and take Health Canada to court for violating our rights as adults. Lawyer up, Health Canada.

Vaping for more than a dozen years, I remember the vaping technology of 2010. Compared to what's available today, it's like comparing a biplane crop duster with a Lear Jet. Lack of innovation? Hmmm, beyond flashy bells & whistles, I think there's not too much room for innovation. What is it you miss from 6-7 years ago? My most recent hardware purchase was 4-months ago. I buy stuff that's years removed from their introduction to save big bucks. Not the latest gizmo, but they work just fine! I'll never actually NEED to buy any more hardware, aside from battery cells. The powers that be could slam the door on all hardware sales and I'd still be set up for decades. I'm 68 now.

This is genuinely sad to see. I recently got into vaping, a little under 8 months to be exact. But the reason why I actually *got into* vaping, was due to wanting to *quit SMOKING* As someone who's been smoking since I was 11, I'm now 24 about to turn 25 in a couple of weeks, don't judge me, I grew up in the ghetto of Winnipeg so smoking at that age was sadly nothing to get about, which is an entirely different issue. But I grew to smoke almost a pack a day after a few years and obviously had a huge nicotine dependency that I've sadly grown up with. After having my son, and my son actually realizing how terrible smoking is and asking me to quit, I quit on the spot. But in order to deal with the horrible nicotine withdrawal, my wife suggested we start vaping. And I am just under 8 months cigarette free and I don't even think about smoking anymore, and someone who smoked a lot of cigarettes a day for over half of my life, that is amazing. And since then, my breathing has gotten better, I passed that gross point where I'm coughing up gross phlegm and other gross things, which I will probably still do for awhile given how long I've smoked, but the difference between when I smoked and now is night and day. And I'm not stupid, I check the ingredients and I only buy the basic E Liquids and Nic Salts to satisfy my wants and needs and avoid any unnecessary ingredients that are added to any e liquid or nic salts I purchase. But I know it would just be better outright to quit smoking and vaping altogether, but as someone that's smoked for as long as I did, the difference in how I feel and my breathing and overall quality of life has vastly improved since I quit smoking and started vaping. It would probably be better to quit outright, but if done right, Vaping is a lot less dangerous than smoking. My advice to someone looking to quit smoking is to know your options, know what you're putting into your body and know the effects of every way to intake nicotine. The more you know will add more years to your life.

I remember 2006 ish, my mom was given a trial sample from her doctor of this inhaler device (By nicorette, later found to Leach the filler material down the throat and taken off the market quietly). But frankly I think they took it off instead of improving it because by then it was so similar to vaping in its use of action that they rather kill the product then compete with vaping (and lend credibility to vaping). I've seen similar products since then that get rave reviews (look up füm) as opposed to this nicorette product that if I'm not mistaken we still have half the pack open in a box somewhere... Sigh

I think alot of the plateau comes from the market hitting exactly what the average person wants as well. It was fun seeing it go from cigalikes, to the custom mods, then to the kbox style with rda's and self built coils, to the tank style, and then sub-ohm pre-built coils In said tanks that could almost if not fully keep up with rda's, and then into the earlier pod systems like the saurin drop and the breeze 2. But it seems to me that salt nic killed the innovation because having a pod mod with mesh coils that can keep up with the old tanks in vapor production while being super compact and also be potent enough nicotine that you don't need alot of juice in one tank really hit the sweet spot of what vapers want and it's hard to have anything super new because all of the old problems that required innovation now no longer exist.

Interesting video, I have thought a lot about and searched for videos about vaping being "dead." I still vape 20mg MTL to feed my nicotine addiction but it's become similar to smoking in that there is no interest or enjoyment in it. I appreciate not smelling like shit and my lungs are probably better off, but as a hobby it's been dead to me since mid 2019. I think the media backlash is just part of the story, it definitely played a huge role especially in terms of acceptance by the general nonsmoking population. But I think there's other issues that affected vapers directly. I think the nonstop stream of identical cheap products from China, inconsistent juice quality and flavour, the community drama with the infighting and "exposing" of various companies that were held in the highest regard who turned out to be shady, silly and questionable marketing with all sorts of ethical and copyright problems... they all combined to gradually kill it. Salt nicotine and pod devices are also another factor. It's just so much more convenient and less annoying to others if not blowing huge clouds of fog. If all those reasons combined didn't kill vaping as it used to be, then COVID surely would have done it. No more hanging out in shops and sampling different flavours. I will remember it mostly fondly, but it was inevitable. I feel bad for those who continue to use combustible tobacco but hey, it's still an available alternative if they really want one.

TL:DR there ARE inconvenient workarounds. Terrible position to be put in; you and smokers alike. To ANYONE interested in workarounds if this comes to pass, please read below(and adjust if required from a legal standard) I'm an adult Canadian vaper, smoked for over 20 years; since I was 12-13. It was stupid easy to buy cigarettes as a young teen and they didn't seriously start carding people until I already was age of majority... These days it's a bit flattering to be carded which happens every so often... But for vapes! If anything, the bare minimum should be harshly fining and actively going after those end user sellers in gas stations and Mom and Pop shops. If the mom and pop shops wanted to sell vape so badly they should be a vape shop! Not skirting the law and selling disposables to 14-year-olds just to make a quick buck. No not to say I condone youth vaping (albeit I'd rather see a 15-year-old vaping versus smoking but I digress), the powers that be KNOW that people determined to use something will find a way to turn it into a black market... Are they doing this so that black market juices become a thing therefore creating a new evali outbreak (And a new class of criminals) they can link directly to nicotine vaping?! I've suggested in passing (in regards to flavors, And I doubt it'll work with all of your stores), but were you a smoker in the 90s-00s? There was a grocery store near me that was also a drug store. Ontario's law@the time banned drug stores from cigarette sales(so they had too choose to remove the Pharm, or the smokes. They walled off a small square from the outdoors with plywood, out an outside door in, and put the "cigarette store"in this separate entrance, probably under a different 1xxxxxxONT inc. If it comes to that, you could do something similar(ie sell vapes in the main store, and have an "incense oil" & other related woo-woo crap out of a side door that sells flavour concentrate with appropriate pg/vg/?Nic? As needed. It's quite the unnecessary rearrangement, but if it's either that or go out of business because all you can sell is unflavored, Nic, and menthol... Then so be it! /End rant/ Long time shopper - hal

Will vaping ever be as it once was? Probably not. In fine, whether that's a good or bad thing, is unknown. The way I see it, vaping was created by users, smokers wanting to quit combustible tobacco. It won't die, but the industry can be negatively affected. Countries like England or New Zealand give hope, especially when opposed to the US or Canada. The last big question mark is the EU and the revision of the TPD. This will set the tone for the industry: - If the EU follows the WHO guidelines and seriously restricts vaping devices, the access to them and bans flavours, then it will be another big influential market that gets closed off. Vaping could have the same fate as Snus, with only 1 or 2 countries keeping it alive, not much innovation, slowly fading from the minds of people... It won't matter that the UK and/or New Zealand won't have many smokers left, there are hardly any smokers in Sweden and Snus is still banned in the EU. And there could also be the question of a black market with the dangers it has, and the criminalisation associated to vaping, which is a hard stigma to overcome. - If the TPD revision is more or less like the one we have in place, then I have much hope. The number of smokers will keep dropping in the EU, which could give countries like Canada and the US (big markets) a reason to revise their stance, as well as other countries. The EU, along with the UK and New Zealand would represent a large enough market to keep innovations in the industry and enough weight scientifically to officially give vaping its harm-reduction status. - What the revised TPD will look like, is a big question. Some countries in the EU are favorable to vaping, like France where some politicians are vapers (most notably the Minister of Health) and a big vaping company has become an official sponsor of a reknown football club (soccer for US Americans). Other countries like Italy have revised their stance on taxing vaping products. In Spain, vapers are suing the government for fake messaging on vaping. But other countries like Germany, Norway or Ukraine have a hard stance on vaping. Whatever the outcome, I doubt consumers as a whole will all roll-over and go back to smoking and to the way it was before vaping appeared.

For those whatever way they got into or involved with it.. ex smokers, formers smokers, an none smokers even and the rest of them an so on. An all the rest of it an so on and so forth. :/ :/ :) That from the black market shit that convinced a mindset for people believing that, that was the case when had nothing at all to do with regular said nic/none nic vape products. Then the damage from that to addiotional damage of the whole thing of news which then peacked goverments interest in the good kind of way for making action of to many of youths getting there hands on and doing and stuff like that. Just ended up screwing over and up for all others that became close to point of being one or having made said bond or connection/ and both even for that matter... with the community the way that all those out there an the rest of it an all that.

The tobacco 'flavour' thing still rubs me the wrong way. Being artificial, tobacco is still LITERALLY a flavor additive... Shows you how little these people in control of legislation understand vape products! If nutty tobacco still tobacco? How do they quantity it? If its just be 60% tobacco base, is there restrictions on what the other 40 just be? Just a thought - just find tobacco reviews online that proclaim country X's tobacco tastes like lemon meringue plus tobacco... Presto! You're within the rules and you get to just say 'Moroccan' tobacco tastes like tobacco w/hints of lemon meringue pie! Can they really say it must taste like DuMarier or Marlboro or it's not tobacco flavor?!? Give me a break! If anything, that should be a talking point if there's any hearings in making this decision!
