My theory is we'll be departing from him; he's gonna stay in Old Sharlyan to take on the role as perhaps the new leader of the Forum (just like how Lyse left the Scions to take on as leader of the Ala Mhigan resistance.) This is just a theory, I could be way off. My lil bro better not die or I'll be devastated T^T

So with the music part, I have goosebumps. It's a side effect of our fight or flight response, i.e. an adrenaline rush. Music crescendos and certain tempos affect a lot of people that way with strong emotional attachments to said music.

The fact that he is pulling from almost a decade of songs and leitmotifs we have listened to hundreads of times just makes everything even more emotional. For example, one of the reasons Dragonsong, To the Edge and Who brings shadow get people extremely emotional is due to the fact that before the songs play in full in the finales, we hear snippets and trimmed down versions of these songs dozens of times before listening to the complete versions. Soken and his sound/music team plays with our hearts like a fiddle.

I have been a quivering ball of emotion since this dropped. I keep thinking of Emet's narration and how it feels like a valedictory, like he's wishing us luck just before the credits roll. I don't think I can explain how I feel about this game to normal people anymore without choking up.

Jesse Cox is also predicting that the opening line with Emet is actually going to be said right before credits roll, and that the song will be the credits song. I think it'd fit perfectly. I need that song though, it's so soothing, like despite everything that's going on, everything's going to be alright.

It is of little wonder for me that he will be narrating the most important journey of Azem, his dearest friend. In one of the short stories in the Lodestone, they described Emet as a very close friend who opposes us at every turn but always ended up helping us. He kinda got used to us always getting in some sort of trouble. One proof is the invocation he made for us even though we have no right to have one as a defector. I believe Emet will be with us, his wayward friend right until the end.

That Old Sharlyan remix part is fire. It makes me feel like the player convinces the sacrificed Ascians to switch sides somehow to fight for the current life in the world. That kind of momentous decision that screams "we have a chance to win!" The release date itself weirds me out tho, historically speaking.

I really don’t think it’s going to be Alphi that dies, considering they just gave him one of the expansion jobs. Either he’ll stay in Old Sharlayan (with G’raha, from what it seems?), or one of the others will die. Possibilities to me are Y’shtola, Estinien, or Alisaie - but with Zenos and an unhinged Ascian around, someone’s definitely gonna die this expansion, and I really don’t think they’ll kill off anyone that got the Shadowbringer and Endwalker jobs. Though if Alphinaud did die, it wouldn’t be horribly unfitting - the amount of growth he’s gone through and the amount of times people have sacrificed themselves to save him, he may well return the favor - likely for Alisaie or the Warrior.
