Later in my Navy career, my sub was in Portsmouth, Va for an overhaul. Me and some of my Nuke buddies found a club in Virginia Beach called September's in the late 80s. When Taylor came on, the floor was packed! Such great memories.

I'm so glad you discovered at her most popular late 80s/early 90s blue eyed American pop/soul singer Taylor Dayne! She's an exceptional vocalist and performer who is so underrated. One of my favorite bits about her is from comedian Tig Notaro, who shared in one of her standup sets meeting Dayne on several occasions, each time professing her appreciation of Dayne and her music with the exact same statement. In funny & endearing return, Dayne repaid Notaro by surprising Notaro while she was onstage doing a set, where Dayne sang to Notaro. Both clips can be found on youtube.
