Getting the engine in the Dakota for good, so we can pull the Toyota in for work! Unfortunately when dealing with the blown head gasket I had right away in the Toyota, I must have over torqued the head studs and cracked the block. That combined with low compression from bent rods and a worn out pilot bushing meant it was time to pull the engine!

I should have run my ac hose under the engine like you did. Smart planning ahead.

Well honestly that's the only way I could route the hoses and then match up without needing to extend them 😂😂😂

did you check the parallelism of the crank adapter? Probably best done with the flywheel attached and indicate at the outer edge to get the most accuracy. Is the acme plate flat AND parallel? Did you notice the clutch being extremely 'chattery' when new? Like dash-board shaking rough? I dealt with one that had just .015 misalignment that made smooth clutching impossible. Chrysler recommends .003 MAX.. So every one since got a mandatory check before installing in the vehicle! I used several sets of offset dowel pins over the years when doing automatic-to-manual installs. If yours wasn't this rough when engaging the clutch, I'd suspect the adapter on the flywheel- both for face parallelism, and throwout brg. (is the bore STRAIGHT in the adapter) A 'crooked' bore ( from a skewed parent bore or un- parallel faces will 'screw out' a bushing every time... even if it's perfectly 'aligned'. Does ACME use toyota pattern flywheels, or do they weld and redrill for VW pattern? I'll make a prediction here- instead of the lousy 20k miles per bushing, you'll maybe half this life with a ball bearing if you have wobble. Keep an ear on the noise coming out of that area, you start hearing weird noises when the brg. is running- (clutch disengaged, in gear, vehicle stopped) you better change it out asap! you don't want a bearing race exploding, and grenading that adapter. I'm thinking on going with Doomsday; He's down the road a couple hours from me, and his price can't be ignored.

Ya I don't have any of the tools to check this stuff, I will keep everyone updated on how the bearing does, about 3000 miles on it is still nice and quite with the clutch pushed in. Clutch is smooth engaging so far, but acme adapters have been proven to be up to .012" from centered I believe, I'm sure thats my issue

Unfortunately ACME adapters are known for not being centered, they are anywhere from 1/32-1/8" off, still goes together without issue but wobbles the clutch disk until it eventually breaks
