Hey buddy quick question pulling head off mine . can I reuse head studs or should I get new ones since they are torque to not come out ? and pretty sure I dropped a valve in mine so how was I tdc my engine and pin pump . kinda don’t wanna rotate engine and hit a piston any more ?

If you are pulling the head anyways you can set everything to TDC later during reassemble. But you really shouldn't use stretch bolts 2x 😬

I don't remember which transfer case it is, the one stock behind the r150f. I do believe it is chain drive but I couldn't say for sure

Great video, do you need to check TDC of the crank as well? Im wondering what keeps the crank oriented to the pump & cam when they both have adjustable sprockets

I made marks for the crank, but there is also a timing mark on the harmonic balancer and timing cover to recheck everything is right at the end. The pump sprocket is the only adjustable one. The cam is press on. Once belt it back on and tension is set, you check crank is still on its mark, then injection pump pin still looks good. Then check cam for Tdc and lastly tight cam sprocket bolt to lock cam. 2 revolutions by hand and recheck all marks.

@TDISwaps I gotcha, yeah I like how you did that. I wasent sure if the cam and crank could get out of alignment over time and needed to be re-timed to each other. That press fit must hold the cam tight

I bought that exact same pop tester off ebay from india... mine is leaking diesel from the bottom of the piston making it pretty much useless to see if the injector nozzle is leaking because it loses pressure pretty rapidly.

Well the BEW PD GMC K1500 pickup swap worked great, the biggest thing with a land Rover is getting a transmission adapter. I haven't had any of my mk5 cars get totalled yet to try out a BRM swap though.

I would add a little bit more aluminum pipe to that 180 bend, that silicone is a little to close to that exhaust housing. on my car I fit a 3inch pipe over the axle, its a little tight but it clears every thing.

while it may take some extra plumbing i swear i say this on all of ur videos cuz i want someone to do it cuz i cant😂😂 u should put ur old turbo back on and make it a compound system, then u would get boost with casual accel rather than needing to really ask for it and also the turbos will be more efficient and you wont need to intercool as much. but regardless this thing is beautiful

I put a 1756 on when my stock turbo started burning oil, I kinda wish I did a replacement cartridge and compounded the factory turbo for how much I use the car, then I would have kept the fast spool and made more power up top. I do plan on doing this when I swap the engine into somthing else though cause I miss that boost off idle response.

I did not have a tcm with the jeep transmission so I installed a gate shifter to electronically operate the transmission solenoids for shifting. This works well to hold gears and stay in boost when going though rolling hills

Im currently running a Mtdi setup but i want to go back to electric pump. Sorry if you get this question alot. But once the harness is done is the IMMO thing that that needs to be disabled in order to get the engine running?

Ya you really need to get the ECU deleted of excess sensors along with the immo disable, but I can do all that and bump the power up too if you need it.

@@TDISwaps Thank you for responding so quick! The sensors im thinking of using are MAF, MAP, needle lift, crank sensor and Coolant temp. And ofc the pedal. I have a complete parts car available. If i use these sensors will the engine "run". I dont really care about it throwing codes as long as it dosent go into limp mode. Im currently a student so i cant really afford to get professional help so i need to do as much as possible myself.

What did you do for Engine mounts? from what I have seen, theyre mounted from the front and back in the cars instead of on the sides of the block.

@@TDISwaps Why not an AX 15 aside from youre running automatic?? I guess it d be a pain in ass to put a clutch n manual in it. still a nice truck. I take it you had to carry the heavy tools to go do a job out of town??? Id never carry that much weight on the ALH unless I had to. Only thinkin youd get a lot better mpg without all the tools in back. Still a nice mpg loaded down. thanks.

New to the whole wiring thing but good at all the custom stuff, the exhaust tunnel is no longer needed because of hood exit. So I’m cutting the floors and tying the front subframe to the rear trailing arms and strut towers. Then building storage bins in the floor all the way up to the driver seat.

It's easier to explain what is needed to run, everything but the crank, cam, injectors, fuel temp and coolant sensor are deleted off then engine, then there's just the map and alternator plugs off the engine.

It's better than I imagined! This is a stock internal ALH, just added head studs, turbo, injectors and tuning. Along with small improvements for the swap. Should be 180-200 HP and 280-320 TQ

The oil pressure from start to first stop dropped quite a bit.

Oil pressure depends quite a bit on engine temp and rpm, it's been running about the same usually, but if oil temp gets over 210 I drop to 35 or so at 2500 rpm, still well within spec though, they run extra high cold

Hey it worked, there's never any issues when you prepare for them! Get a good base down underneath and have semis drop the rock in, skid steer helps for leveling.
