The garlic part rang a bell, especially the fact that her teeth smelled. There is a chemical compound that smell like garlic. It is lethal when combined with acid in the stomach (phosphine), it is used to kill rodents. I like to think that maybe she had a false tooth made of calcium phosphide encapsulated. That could explain why her teeth vanished from the lab to be found decades later. Or maybe not.

I mean, with the sheer amount of pills in her system, she likely didn’t suffer for long, if at all. These pills take 20 minutes to a half hour to put you down, but the numbing effects can come in very fast, and I doubt that she took all those pills and then was immediately on fire. With almost 70 pills, she likely took them a few at a time, so the effects would’ve already been setting in before she even finished the pills.

I agree! That also explains why she was only burned in the front, after taking so many sleeping pills, you'd go into a coma and wouldn't be able to move. Even if she was on fire she wouldn't be able to roll around in pain, which would spread the flame to her back (or put out the fire) I mean if someone other than her set the fire to burn evidence of a murder they would defiantly have tried to burn all of her. It just makes more sense that she did it herself. If she was in a rush to erase her identity she would think that burning her face of was good enough.

Here is something super interesting, and i hope you bring this up in the QnA: A couple of decades later, in Norway. A woman is found dead in a hotel room in Oslo. To this day her murder is unsolved, but the circumstances around this is too simular not to bring up. She was found dead in her bed, along with multiple weapons, ammonition, and a diver's watch. A suitcase was also found at the scene. She booked the hotel room using a fake name, and police and studies determined she is of Belgian/French decent. One of the most chilling details is that here - just as in Iskaldkvinnens case, the tag's on her clothes were also REMOVED. For anyone interested in the case, search "Plaza kvinnen" or "Plaza woman norway" :) I left out a lot of details, and im sorry for the poor spelling. But i advice you to look into it, the simularities are chilling. EDIT: Didn't really expect this to blow up like this. Re-read what i said and MY BAD that its so all over the place. Do your own research and figure out yourself, as i said the circumstances are close. A small country like Norway with a low crime-rate, these two cases pops out of the many. Two nameless women, possible spies murdered with both of them having ties to Belgium/France.

I love the idea of 1) having wigs 2) multiple passports 3) removing labels = spy Now the fact the passports were fake leads to probably spying But if it was just those 3 criteria then I’m a spy too, I’m dual citizen of Denmark and Vietnam, they contain two very different names, one Northern European one south East Asian, I have wigs from chemotherapy and my hair fell out (I’m fine now. I just spent a lot of money on those wigs and they’re cute so I still sometimes use them for fun) and labels in clothing rub up against my skin which is uncomfortable so I remove them/sew them into the fabric depending on what type of label it is

Back in the day, labels on clothing could be VERY identifying. Clothes weren’t nearly as mass produced as they are now. There may be only one store that sold that item, depending on what it was. And if they were foreign, that’d help know which country or other state they came from. Sizing would help if the person’s body was so badly burned that the size of their body changed.

What if she was being pursued by an enemy spy and swallowed the pills to commit suicide but before they worked, the enemy spy set her on fire...
@katchupmachined19143 жыл бұрын
This was my leading theory for a while but the thing that doesn’t quite add up for me is the method of death. I’d assume a spy would have a faster means of suicide then sleeping pills like cyanide, a Gun, or even something as simple as a knife. Likewise I’d assume a spy sent to hunt down another spy would choose a more professional means of death like poison, or a gun, or even a knife. While a fire would be a useful way to hide the features afterwards the process of dousing an human, much less a spy, in something flammable and then lighting them on fire seems like too much of a risk for me. They could easily fight back and one wrong move and suddenly you’re also on fire.
@sneepsnorp18833 жыл бұрын
@@katchupmachined1914 If you recall, police found her belongings at the TRAIN STATION. She was obviously in a hurry, most likely because she knew she was being hunted, so she most likely threw on something easy to move in and not all that noticeable. She was wearing a skirt, so it isn't clear is she had pockets or time to strap on a thigh holster and a gun (I don't even think she had a gun in her belongings.). As a spy that knew she was caught, she went out to a notorious suicide hot-spot with a bottle of pills in her hand (Small and easy to carry.) and went to a place that she probably would've hand picked before hand just in case this ever happened so she would be slightly prepared and dry swallowed the pills just as her enemy came into view. Realizing that she wouldn't survive to tell them what they needed to know, they burned her using the gasoline to cover her identity and most likely help cover their tracks in the process. Moving things around in the crime scene caused confusion and therefore the case was never solved. But that's just what I think :)
@katchupmachined19143 жыл бұрын
@@sneepsnorp1883 I’ll say that I can’t entirely discount that however if it’s an enemy spy then what does it matter? What do they gain from concealing her identity?
@sneepsnorp18833 жыл бұрын
@@katchupmachined1914 She would've had a name, a family, companions, rivals, and most importantly, a JOB and what that job was. If what and who she was came to light, of course other things that revolved around her would too! Think about it. You realize who this person was and what she did, and this is just another clue to who killed her. Detectives, police, and even the government would most likely be VERY interested to find out who killed her, or who was after her, after most likely finding many enemies on her spy trail. Along with the idea of finding out the motive of her death, this would be a very unwanted headache to these people who thrived on avoiding the spotlight, no matter how small the headache was. Her identity being revealed would bring a lot to the surface, things that they were trying to hide, because why else were they doing it in secret?
@katchupmachined19143 жыл бұрын
@@sneepsnorp1883 We have a fair description of what she looked like from the people she interacted with, and we have dna along with a dental history as well. My point is that local governments would have no way of identifying her regardless if she really wasn’t a citizen of their country, and National governments would be well aware of who was currently in the field. The government she belonged to isn’t going to hear about a mysterious woman dying, see that one of their spies hadn’t come back from their mission for some time, and then be confused about it. At best they’d probably list her as MIA while it was being investigated and then eventually KIA once more came out about it. The only person who’d have the motive to obscure her features was herself if she really was a spy. If they found her body intact they may have been able to connect her to other operations in hopes of finding out what she had been involved in prior to her death. If someone connected her to someone they saw in a place she shouldn’t have been at some point they’d know that where ever she had been was most likely compromised. If you want my theory I’d say she probably burned herself so that whoever she was running from wouldn’t be able to identify her, the sleeping pills may have been taken in hopes that they’d speed up the process or at the very least numb the pain to some extent, leaving her belongings beside her was potentially a way to signal her allies as to who she was as they’d potentially recognize the belongings. The suitcase I imagine was left at the train station either for or by a fellow spy, and it probably at one point contained whatever intelligence she had obtained. Either she left it at the train station so that a spy could come along, take whatever was inside, and then leave it or she gave it to another spy during a handoff and made the train station the drop point so that she could pick it up later, which she of course didn’t as she was compromised somehow. I imagine whatever nation she belonged to knew exactly who she was but kept silent as to not expose which of them was spying on the other especially if all signs point to suicide, which as you know isn’t something spies just do for no reason. I just hope whatever government she belonged to at least notified her family so they could get some kind of closure. (I know this contradicts what I had said earlier but after thinking over everything I believe his is what happened)
I thought the same exact thing but thought it was too obscure to post!

I'm from Norway. The reason the man didn't rcognize the smell of garlic, as that - although garlic came to Norway (in probably like, the 60s - don't quote me on this), people thought it was for decoration. They didn't actually know to cook with it until like the 80s (fun story a refugee told me. She was really weirded out by how everyone had decorational garlic in their kitchens but no one used it for cooking). This case (isdalskvinnen) was in 1970.

Okay, but have you guys read about the fact that someone came forward in 2005 saying he recognised the woman from the sketches that were given? 5 days before the woman was found dead he saw her while he was hiking on fløyen. He said she didnt look like she was dressed up for hiking but rather more city like (I've been hiking there as well and trust me there is no way you can wear nice clothes up there). He apparently saw her together with two other men. And he reported this to the police, but was told to forget about it all together? I mean if this doesnt sound fishy enough to you then i don't know.

M I was thinking something along these lines. Like someone was on to her being a spy and she knew she had to kill herself (takes the pills herself) but needed help covering up her identity (gets her spy buddies to help burn her)

You guys missed one major detail. 32 Years after the woman's death, a man who was 26 at the time, came forward who claimed to have seen the woman days prior to her death. He said he saw her walking in the hiking trail not far from where she was found dead. As they walked passed each other, she seemed as if she wanted to say something to him, but was silenced into fear by 2 large men in black coats who were following her. Days after this, the man saw a sketch of the woman and contacted the police. However, he was waved off, and told by police to "Forget her, she was dispatched. The case will never be solved". Fearing that he'll be followed, he kept to himself until 2002.

Ok, so the weird "garlicky" smell really reminds me of Gloria Ramirez, the "toxic woman," and what happens when you're in ketosis, which I think some theorists think that Gloria Ramirez might have been because of her cancer medication... I wonder if there's something similar here, with her mysterious medications and unknown prescriptions...

Anyone else getting Somerton Man vibes? Unidentifiable body, all labels removed, suitcase found at train station belonging to body, secret code in a book, odd death circumstances, suicide theories. Too many overlaps for me to lay it down as coincidence
@SheIsntReal74 жыл бұрын
My thoughts as well. Very similar! Edit: I don’t think they’re actually related, but it’s just super weird that they’re so similar.
@nogussy4 жыл бұрын
The fact that the events are similar in some ways (this is ignoring the fact that there's a ridiculous amount of unknowns which questions the similarity) does not rule them as connected; these methods used might be simply the norm in the circumstances of these people, reason being is that they work. The fact that the bodies are so far from each other makes me think that yes it is a coincidence, and not necessarily very unlikely at that.

@@9one984 maybe the murderers didn't know she took the pills
@kettlepetal31385 жыл бұрын
Chloe J. Basically what I think. I believe she was being chased because of how frequently she was moving around. Maybe she took the pills herself as an attempt to go out in her own terms, yet the murderer still found her either before she died- and so killed her themselves- or afterwards- and burned her to prevent identification? And this is all assuming she was in fact a spy too. That would get the killer a motive; perhaps she held valuable info and thus she needed to be taken out. I don’t see how she could’ve burnt herself, there was nothing left behind that could’ve ignited the fire, thus suggesting someone else lit it.
@hopehorinek5 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly, and maybe if people were able to identify her they could trace the murderer to her husband or someone else close to her.

What if this woman was a spy but she wasn't actually the one who is died. What if she found a woman who looked similar, planted her prints on those glasses and then killed her in a bizarre way to confuse the police. What if she did this just because she was in danger of being found as a spy and she did this to get people off her trail.
