There is a photo of my great uncle Harry Collier introducing the players to the Governor of Victoria (I think) in the mid 30s. The southern stand still under construction. My grandfather George Collier, older brother to Harry and Albert "Leeta" Collier. The only brothers to both win the Brownlow Medal.

Would like to see more of the ground grandstand/stand and standing area layout plans (shown briefly for some periods in this video) shown for a longer time, as a chronological evolution of the ground, showing their respective capacities, and evolving ground total capacity (and showing their dimensions, if possible).

was told no new renos for the mcg for the next 5 years but theres talk of moving the lights into the stands themselves around 2030 but no renos for now apart from a new foot bridge to the mcg from richmond station

People can continue to say that Adelaide Oval or Optus Stadium is better than the G, and that might be true by modern standards. But no other venues in the world have the history and character of this great ground and never will.

That's a travesty they were allowed to demolish the old pavilion. It lost all its uniqueness, history and character. It now looks like any old massive bowl stadium you get in the US or India. Shame.
