What is so refreshing about Charlie Weasley is the fact that he does not have a love interest. The problem I have with many stories both in books and on screen and stage is that there always has to be this love interest. I love those types of stories, but sometimes they seem forced. Everyone doesn't have to get married, and Charlie's reasons for not having a family are legitimate. I would love it if there was a side story of minor characters with their perspectives or something. Charlie Weasley is a very interesting, underrated, and unconventional character.

I think Charlie almost never being seen was kind of the point of his character. I remember when I was a kid, I had friends who had fully grown siblings I never met who were off doing amazing things. They almost seemed too cool to be real and they had this feel of mythical heroes. Rowling has a great way of mixing fantasy magic with that magic we all experience in our everyday lives.

The Weasleys were so poor they were like the wizarding version of "trailer trash." The thing is, Harry never even noticed because everything they owned was magic, so it was way better than anything he'd ever seen. Hermione was raised in a muggle house so it wasn't a thing she really thought about either. A hand-me-down wand is brutal and embarrassing among wizards, but it's a perfect symbol of that poor but magic theme.
