I’m kind of actually glad they didn’t redeem Morro at the end of the season. Morro did so much that it was very unredeemable but I’m glad they wrote it so he notices that he cause lots of destruction and his master still forgives him even after not being the green ninja and destroying everything. But you gotta keep in mind Morro had every reason to become a villain; Imagine being an orphan and living on the streets through childhood, only to be taken in by some “wise” sensei. It’s then discovered that you have powers! You’re told that you would be the savior of all people, the person to fight darkness. So you train because it’s like “oh crud this is my only purpose in life I gotta git gud”. And you train for years, you’re going to live up to the name of the green ninja. The time comes when fate will be sealed, you’ve worked so hard to be everything you’ve been told you’ll be; only to find out it was all for nothing. That one purpose in life? Yeah that’s gone now. Yknow that same saying “with age comes wisdom”? It must be true since when wu was young he wasn’t very bright. If wu was wise he would’ve tested morro with the elemental weapons before telling him about the green ninja and what he could be. If morro was the green ninja they would’ve reacted regardless if he had training or not (Lloyd had the weapons react to him and he was garbage at fighting). In theory if wu tested the weapons first, if they did react he would tell morro his fate. If they didn’t he could’ve just said that if they did react he would have a horrible death. That way he could’ve had morro as a legit son. So yeah, to anyone that reads all this ily

Day of the Departed was such a great episode; it was nice to see Morro finish his redemption completely instead of just leaving it left open in the season finale of Possession. I watched the show up until Day of the Departed and thought they ended Ninjago with this last mini-movie (I even remember the internet showing that DotD was Ninjago's final episode when it released). I didn't even know they were still making new Ninjago seasons until a month ago when I found out Cole's voice actor died (RIP). Morro's redemption was done the best way possible, but it's sad that he didn't get to stay with the ninja.

I don't think I'd like it if I got into it today but it's just a thing that's stuck with me through the years probably because I really like the characters and I still love LEGO.
