Eustace was badly treated by his brother and mother and his father ignored him most of the time so the reason why Eustace, wants attention from Muriel is because of his father ignoring him and the nagging after food is because his mother, barely bothered feeding so it's pretty obivious that Eustace's anger and bitterness comes from his tough and lonely childhood he got married in 1953, to a woman who loved cooking and showing kindness to people two things that Eustace never saw in his mother so Eustace was finally feeling happyness, the reason why he treat courage like dirt is because he is the reason why Muriel pay less attention to Eustace and the stupid dog , comes from Eustace being called stupid boy by his mother there is a theory that Eustace and Muriel had a son who died young to an accident when trying to do a challenge, wich is also probaply why Eustace is being Passive aggressive towards children but another theory says that Muriel couldnt become pregnant, so Eustace never had the opportunity to have a son that he could raise better than how Eustace's father raised him, Eustace is a deeply troubled man who should have been seeing a therapist there is also a theory that Eustace murdered a man who Muriel had been dating so that Muriel could be his.

I can tell you otherwise, because it's a fucking cartoon. "Freaky" is all it ever was. But it was ALWAYS a comedy. At no point was anything frightening in the least. Entertaining mostly because you and I were stupid kids who liked stupid jokes. But I can say there were WAY worse things to come. Like Dexter's Lab, season 3. Better knowns as "AIDS plus 1". If there was ever an example of a show being brought back for another season and completely ruined, that would probably be the poster child. None of this, of course, takes into account post Foster's episodes of anything. Which was when all content on Cartoon Network instantly turned into dog shit and Adult Swim was all that was left. And none of this takes into account that TV is dead now and we all have better things to waste time on than nostalgia. Like posting randomly on KZbin and giving your opinion of shit that no one cares about and will promptly ignore.

Early 3D was very effective at evoking the eerie and unnatural when used alongside traditional animation. Fits really well in a surreal horror show even decades afterward. Not so good for most other genres, where it ages like raw meat on a hot day. My view of the show is that all of the characters seen passing through are real people/animals personified by Courage. If you live in the middle of nowhere, you’re likely to be sketched out by say, a traveling salesman or a stray cat. As a dog he wants to defend the family, but he must overcome the fear of the unknown. I didn’t watch it much as a kid so this might just be the original design of the show, but I was happy to make the connection nonetheless :)

The crossover between courage the cowardly dog, and Scooby Doo was literally something that Cartoon Network was planning on doing for a very long time. Especially after they did that short, wear some villains of courage like a bug in a mummy show up inside the attic where courage was taking refuge in. To the point where shaggy and Scooby reveal their actual identities to courage freaking him out. So many fans of both shows literally wanted that to happen for sometime, but Cartoon Network never got around to it until suddenly they did. Nearly 20 years after that short reveal personally I actually like that episode it was actually the final episode for the actress who played Muriel. Even though the actor who played Eustis is dead this was like a final sendoff for the actress playing Muriel. Because she passed away long before making this her final voice acting. despite the actor who played Eustice, being dead, long before the guy played in the new actor did such a tremendous job like the voice never went away. It sounded like the original cranky, bitter old man we all actually knew from long ago. The funniest part is when he’s doing the Ooga Booga Booga stuff he goes on not only after freaking out courage Scooby and shaggy, but he also states never gets old. Which ironically never did get old that was pretty funny.😉😉😉

One of the things that stuck with me about this show is just how much of it actually stuck with me. For a monster-of-the-week production, most of the villains have a certain keystone trait or catchphrase that the rest of their character is built around. Combined with stories that hone in on the weird, unreasonable fears that children have, and an implicit understanding that Courage will save the day by facing those fears (but never before some slapstick horror shenanigans), everything from haircuts to weird food, from stealing to hunting, from weird business owners to psychiatrists, and that one loud ride at Disney World, seemed a lot less scary.

Man I wish you included the episode of the one time Courage has to fight all his past enemies (including those you didn't mention here). It starts with Eustace being fed up with Courage's favoritism and deciding he's gonna deal with him once and for all. He ends up calling up all of Courage's most notorious rivals which include Katz, Le Quack, the Black Puddle Queen (from that one episode where she kidnaps Eustace and tries to eat him), Cajun Fox, The Weremole, and Big Toe (also from a one off episode where Eustace's toe fungas gains sentience) [btw idk why he invited villians that tried to hurt him in the past but ok]. They meet in the farm basement in secret where they plan their revenge. To lure Courage into the trap, they take Muriel hostage and tortured her (by doing laundry wrong) to get her to call for help. Courage comes in and Katz (being Katz) offers to feee Muriel IF they beat them in a contest. The game: Dodgeball. Courage's loses and as Eustace prepares to watch Courage perish, Muriel calls to Courage asking "What does he do best". The answer is screaming. He screams so freaking loud that he ends up obliterating all his rivals.

Honestly, I've always had a problem with whether Courage can rightly be called a coward. His only cowardly behavior is screaming at the sight of a monster, but then he always risks his life to save Muriel without a second thought. Someone really cowardly wouldn't be able to overcome it.
@crewrangergaming9582 Жыл бұрын
Fear / being scared is not always a sign of cowardlyness. If you see a lion, you will feel scared, and that is important so you can rush to safety and survive. Courage is no different, when he saw danger he showed normal response but the bravery is not in not being scared, but being scared still stepping up to help others. I always had problems with the saying "Fear is the only thing I fear". No man, if you don't fear you would have been dead years ago. You see a tsunami? don't fear, just stand there with no plan.. and there you go, no amount of bravery can save you from most of the things in this World, only fear can.

Courage even though considered cowardly is actually the bravest character in the show and worthy of his name courage, he was afraid but still faced his fears and always did what needed to be done. Also,thanks for this, as a 90's kid I definitely had a special childhood. They don't make stuff like this any more.

This brings back memories. I enjoyed watching this as a child. There were also some episodes/monsters that scared me and I could relate to Courage. Too bad they don't make such nice cartoons nowadays.

This isn't the entire story, it doesn't go over the alien chickens who had THREE episodes dedicated to them(Dad, dad who is now a roasted bird, and the sons/mom). It also bizarrely leaves out the team up episode of all the villains against Courage, where Ma' is coleader with Katz. Also if we're going over episode that actually shook me as a kid the possession episode is definitely on the top of it. That "We know where you live, we've been waiting for you" and just the whole possession scene in general. Hell I'd put The Great Fusilli above most episodes in terms of horror, especially since it actually had permanent consequences.

the zombie episodes as well with the directors were they redeemed them self to go to heaven in the last arc episode he missed the girl one as well he missed the tornado one he missed the eggplant one and so on he dose this with all shows he covers a few episodes and call it the start and end .... he misses the last episode were he lifts the Farm curse as well

@@notoriousbig3k I can understand keeping things short for time, but missing out on the alien chickens is just weird... They weren't a one-off, they had a whole series devoted to them and instead he put an emphasis on Kitty and Bunny which was one episode. That's like judging Naruto off it's filler episodes. There is even more then that mind you, the snowman had at least 2 episodes too.
