Hi sir!! Kakakita ko lang sa channel niyo, at sinimulan ko mula don sa 5 things about Mindanao. This is a historical battle pero sobrang nakakalungkot na wala 'to sa libro. At dagdag pa na di man lang kilala kung sino yung naglead. I really believe that there is a need for revision sa curriculum natin ng Philippine History sa elementary, at dapat maibalik din sa high school. Sobrang daming pre-colonial events ang di nainclude, and somehow nakakagalit pa rin yung ginawa ng mga dayuhan na nagresulta sa lack ng sources regarding our precolonial history 😔

The fleet of Tarik Sulayman lost the battle because they were lured to surround the Spanish Galleons, which were formed in double mast formation. When they surrounded the Spaniards, the cannons on the galleons destroyed the native Caracoas. The Spaniards are actually outnumbered: 27 armed galleons vs 40 large caracoas armed with lantakas. There is doubt however, if the naval fleet are composed of Kapampangan warriors alone, since the polities in Bulacan and Pampanga are a mixture of both Tagalogs and Kapampangans. The term Luçoes, for example, refers to warriors from all over Luzon: Maynila, Tondo and Namayan.
