The Erfurt Latrine Disaster (1184) - Weird Histories

There were many gruesome ways to die in the medieval period, but perhaps the most horrendous deaths on record, occurred at a royal court in the german city of Erfurt, where a floor collapse plunged a room full of nobles into an excrement filled pit below.
