I got the Endorphines Blck_Noir about a year ago, which has been fine, but when I saw the LXR, I realized it would suit me better, it's more versatile. Part of the charm, the BN doesn't do claps. In the manual it says this is because "Nobody claps in Hell." You gotta love Endorphines design and humor, they even snuck HAL9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey onto the front panel graphics. But dammit, I like claps. Fast forward to now, and my vendor has just put the LXR up with a great discount, so I'm ordering it in a few days. I'll keep the BN, there's a QOP in the local used market that's not moving and dropping in price, so I'd only be taking an increasing loss, so may as well just keep it as an extra that does things slightly differently. Really amped about the LXR though. I've watched this video a few times already, but doing a repeat again before hitting the button.

i have the non-eurorack version and the menu diving isn't too deep. the only thing i find tiring with the menu is automation and if you have the eurorack module that's already set up outside of a menu.

I think the module is awesome, unfortunately my unit came with a defective SD Card reader, i tried another sd card, same issue, beeping on sd reading on the left out1 channel, kits cannot be saved, anyone with the same issues?

They make a self contained drum machine version of this exact brain/sound engine w it’s own sequencer and memory built in… I believe it’s only about $100 more @~$579 or so…. WAAAAYYY more value for your $$$ if you already have a Euro-system full of various cool different sequencers/ mod sources/ etc… then the module here may be a better option but it’s FAR from a good reason to jump into eurorack… you will be looking at ~$1,000 investment before you are able to power, sequence and hear the sounds out of this.. whereas the standalone play it out the box version saves you minimum $400

Ordered, seems cool (love the original LXR). Why all the accent ins instead of just velocity sensitive trigger ins like modern modules have (Disting Ex for example).. also no longer any user samples, for good snares i thought they were a must on the original.. :( anyways looking forward to trying it out with my IDUM.
