Embossing is my go to when I want a finished look to any project, or to quickly watercolor or marker color my images. This is a great refresher to Embossing secrets. TFS

Thank you for this thorough and inspiring tutorial! I love to emboss things, but have kind of been stuck in the rut of only embossing sentiments, not other images. Reviewing the types of inks was particularly helpful since so many new types have come out recently, like the distress and hybrid ones. I just recently bought some great embossing powders on sale and now I have many more ideas on how to use them.

I haven't done this in a while (found Tuxedo Black Memento Ink), but I used to love embossing images that I would color in. They have a more polished look, and the black is still vivid.

Thank you for this great tutorial. I would love to see a part 2 with tips on how to emboss on different types of paper as I always seem to have trouble with vellum and clear acrylics and warping.

Julie Busch the key to that is NOT overheating. You can accomplish that by keeping your heat tool moving, keeping it further away from the material, and embossing with short bursts of heat (heat and take away, repeat several times).

Hi, I like to heat emboss on all surfaces but really need to 'see' what I'm doing. I don't get how most embossing pens are clear. I now have several as I have bought ranger pack of two and only use the black. Please can you advise me on the best embossing pens that actually show up 🙏 thanks

Our suggestion would be to try a embossing pen that isn't clear like the ranger 2-pack, but you've already tried that. It's unfortunate, but most embossing pens are clear. Another suggestion would be to look for a pigment ink pen and try that. We hope this is helpful!

How do you get the ultra fine from sticking everywhere? I use embossing bag but it's still everywhere?

Add a generous layer of the embossing bag and avoid touching the paper. Stamp and add your powder. Gently tap to remove excess. Remove any remaining particles with a dry brush. That’s the best thing I can tell you on this one.

Why does embossing powder sometimes look separated or bubbly

One reason can be holding the heat source too close to the paper.

Another reason could be incomplete stamping, texture of the paper, or over or under heating.
