I’m an A/G Corrections Chap. I’m returning to the Corrections environment (I’m 71, retired). I’ve used an NIV Full Life Study Bible most of those years. It’s signed by Stanley Horton, a professor I had at AGTS. I also have a real marked up NIV Fire Bible. I used in my later years. I didn’t know it was out in ESV (thanks). So I’m going to get one in leather to take in my Chaplaincy work back to the prison. That was because of your review. Thanks!!

Fantastic video Tim! 👍 You really sold me on this, as you already know, but I wanted to leave a review as well. I've never really cared for the ESV, altho to be honest never really gave it a fair shake, partly due to the fact of no Deity pronoun capitalization plus not really fond of single column. But as being an AOG baptism & Pentecostal, this checked all the boxes for me plus it's double column so within 5 minutes of watching your video I don't know HOW many times, I ordered it! I also wasn't aware that you're a Pentecostal pastor, which probly explains why I'm drawn to your videos! Keep up the great work! You do an awesome job! 👏

I switched over to the ESV about six, maybe seven months ago. I have a personal sized one that I carry to church ect, but recently I've been looking for a good study Bible. I'm an Assembly of God person and wasn't interested in the Calvinist leaning one put out by Crossway. I'm definitely going to check this one out. Great review video.👍

I have the Fire Bible in the KJV and MEV, as well as the TN Life in the Spirit KJV. I fully enjoy them all. And yes, distinctly Pentecostal, not Charismatic. While the two share SOME commonalities, they're not the same. Pentecostals are firm in their doctrinal positions, whether that be on the Holiness wing or the Finished Work wing. The Fire Bible supports a broad array of Pentecostal doctrinal positions, and the commentary is excellent. I've given out the MEV Fire Bible Student Edition to youth in my local church, and turned several onto the Fire Bible, as well as the Life in the Spirit. There are few Pentecostal resources so we need as much as we can get! Great overview!

I'm a missionary with Foursquare and I absolutely love this Bible! In fact, I love it so much I have been convincing others to buy it as well. I really love they have it available in numerous different languages too because I have purchased several copies in Tagalog for my workers here in the Philippines. My only complaint is I don't love the ESV. I'm really hoping that one day they can come out with a CSB edition of it.

I have family members who have the “vida plena” bible which is basically the spanish version of the full life bible it has the theme finder and everything im not sure if its the same notes as the ones originally written but i heard thats its good it uses the reina valera 1960 version which is really popular in the spanish speaking community kinda like the king james but i am considering possibly getting this in the esv but i have seen some listings for mev which ive havent read much of

I heard about the watering down of the notes & commentaries in the Life in the Spirit vs. the Fire Bible, and you already hinted at it but can you give exact examples and perhaps citations or quotes? I member when I was living and working at Teen Challenge in Israel back in the early nineties and we were sent a box of Full Life Study Bibles. They were great, although coming from the UK I was intrigued that it contained two articles (one in the OT and one in the NT) essentially prohibiting the drinking of alcohol. I realised that this might be an American Pentecostal distinctive. I now have the KJV Life in the Sprit hardback.

Passio does the Spiritual Warfare Bible. It may be possible these study notes were in the MEV which is a Passio publication. Passio is from Charisma Magazine. They are more on the charismatic scale than Pentecostals are.

Of course my absolute dream scenario would be NKJV. The ESV is my second translation so that would be next. I actually ended up giving this one to my daughter because…well she asked for it..so the one I have now is the Life the Spirit KJV (virtually same content other than translation).

I have a hardback Life in the Spirit NIV I bought at a thrift store years ago, but since I really don’t like NIV it has sat mostly untouched. I’m intrigued that the Fire Bible comes in other translations, plus the full notes. Do you think I should just stick with what I have, then? Or is there much more value in the Fire Bible? I am AG as well

I would suggest looking up pastor Steve Waldron on the YT. He has some great videos about what Pentecostals believe, the differences between charismatic and Pentecostal, AOG versus apostolic etc. He is a onenss Pentecostal, but he has some very informative non-biased videos about pretty much anything to do with Christianity but especially about Pentecostalism. He also does some really great Bible reviews.

Hey Brother, I bought the fire bible and it was a 10 pt font. Too small to comfortably read. Do you have any recommendations on where to get a large print edition??

Unfortunately 10pt is considered large print. There is no giant print version.
