I'm not entirely convinced with the ethiopians pick, because even if you destroy the first player it is still 1v4 afterwards and you have no way to impact the other players. Something like slavs would grant a slightly worse siege (and no bbc but I don't think you made any) but with better halbs, hussars to raid and a better eco

TBH I disagree with this unless you're worried about running out of trees. In post-Imp a lumberjack can chop wood faster than a farmer can grow food, so in terms of villager time 100 wood is cheaper than 100 food. That said if you think the wood on the map might run out that's an argument for selling food instead.

About the question at min 35, perhaps selling food is better as it is produced from a wood investment and it's relatively cheaper than wood. Plus farms out more demand on wood so it is less intensive if word is invested in farms for more food then the food is sold for a higher return than if wood was sold directly for gold

fun game! I play a lot of FFAs and michi FFA meta is to focus down whoever is closest to you, take their leftover resources and work your way around. You went into the middle so it only got one economy (light blue) really and the rest were just sending military. If you get a civ like korea that can leave btowers in your wake to secure already caught land then you can work your way around and defend your base at the edges.

As someone who played exclusively BF team game on Voobly for years, I've never struggled to manage 5tc's but give me 3 tcs and heavy aggro on arabia and I really struggle. Booming even with 7 tc is easier than managing a boom in arabia while managing aggression

Spoiler: Richard was mvp for their team imo. The monk play was great, slowed down your initial push. Made you invest gold in monk techs. Then he added halbs as trash and finally was adding scorpions. Teal supported team very well. Red and Green did great too. Maybe Ethiopians wasn't best pick cuz what do you do after gold is out.

Great game. I have a couple of suggestions: 1. When you had the forward postion early, you couod have sent a lot more vills to take the extra gold/stone you had controlled. 2. You never got the 2nd mining upgrades, could have helped a lot in combination with the first suggesstion. 3. Why do pros hate masonry no matter how much eco they have 😭😭😭

Because wood becomes food via farms. Don't sell wood unless you really have to late game.

With Imp upgrades 60 wood gives you 550 food (generic civ) meaning a little wood translates to a lot of food so it's generally better to sell food and hold on to your wood, might be that. Would also make sense to sell food if most of your composition requires wood to produce.

After the market has crashed, I don’t sell wood on Michi because I can be forced off at some point and want a large reserve. Or sometimes I’ll even delete all my wood villagers for an extra army push. Need wood to hold me over until my vill count gets back up

i think you should go to one of the sides first, i get that stopping trade is important, but you were winning until you had to spread into every direction, instead with a slowish push, your whole army together, they had no chance.
