David Cameron to Sunak have literally broken the UK economy. We seem to always blame the EU, but we have this thing of never holding the UK government accountable properly, we seem to always just moan and groan about things that seem to not be in our control (when it is). This government Tories have deliberately allowed the UK to become the ill man of Europe again.

@@kM-ij2ly This is a strange argument. Just Like the EU Different areas of the UK are on opposite ends of the country and economy There is no economic or political model /argument that suggests splitting the UK areas up into soveren independent contries will solve their problems. The main things we took from Africa and Asia in the last 200 years were the natural resources - before that, we kidnapped and enslaved the people. We did this through colonisation and exploitation; we stole them and gifted things to the elites. Now, we've grown a modicum of conscience we don't steal more (atleast overtly) from former colonies. However, our (and France's, Belgium's, Spain's....) actions in the initial trading, colonisation and break up of Africa continues to impact upon the whole continent, as it does with Indian subcontinent. I get the distinct impression that the caller conveniently forgets/doesn't know these things, and probably has a framed portrait of the MP from the 18th century.

@Problem Solver Think Tank So the question is why? Why do they think they know it all? Often when we think of generations and the difference in thinking it’s usually to have a go at the young, but when you’re young you ask questions. What do I want to be? Who do I want to be? How do I get there? Can we improve things? Why do things have to be this way? When you’re older it’s not about questions so much as answers, easy answers that make you feel knowledgeable. I think this want for easy answers is what has led so many older voters to be fooled. A long time ago I decided to ignore opinion and start looking at data myself and when you do that you realise that almost our entire political and economic outlook is based on myth.

And how will the UK 'expand and get back into the world'? Brexit is done, the UK left the EU. There's only one way back: meeting all of the Copenhagen Criteria before applying, and being voted in by all 27 EU members. Very unlikely for years to come. So now the UK wants better trade deals. But it has nothing to offer the EU, not much leverage at all. The current agreements work fine for the EU. There's only one thing of value the UK has to offer to the EU: *political change* . Ditch the archaic system that got you into this mess: PR instead of FPTP, do something about those 800 unelected MP's, create a written constitution and *become a stable democracy that's trustworthy and honors it's agreements* . Fix that. And then there'll be room for a conversation.

Can you just walk into France tomorrow without any papers and not get arrested? I thought not, because that would be illegal. It works both ways.

Einstein famously said that there are only two infinite things: the size of the univers and the stupidity of human beings. This guy proves that he was absolutely right at least in 50% of what he said.

As a Canadian who used to work in the UK, I left London for Germany because of Brexit. That was 2016, 7 years later, how are the Brits still blaming EU for this self-inflicted issue just goggles my mind. I just watched a documentry about a drop in 95% in EU au-pair in the UK, which used to be an affordable solution to the shortage in child care support in the UK. I'm not sure how Brexiteers are going to spin that into a positive outcome for the UK. When these EU au-pair worked in UK, they also contributed to the local economy by living and spending on the UK high streets. Of course, I don't expect brilliant Brexiteers to understand this simple math.

I have relief that the UK left as a EU citizen. We don’t need this kind of toxicity inside the Union. ✌🏼

The maddening thing is hearing him say 'The poor subsidising the rich'. He's angry for the right reasons... he's just hopelessly lost on who to yell at.

According to the caller, the EU was bad because the poor subsidised the rich, but the CPTPP (presumably his stand-in for the British Empire) is apparently some sort of worker's Shangri-La 😂

@@trytellingthetruth.2068 depends on how you look at it. Physically they are coming from the EU as they travel from France to the UK. If you are talking nationalities. Majority are not from the EU with Albania topping the list which as far as I know is not yet in the EU.
