The EU Plan to Steal Billions from Frozen Russian Assets to Arm Ukraine w/ George Szamuely

Under pressure from the U.S. and the UK to set a dangerous precedent and illegally seize hundreds of Billions in frozen Russians assets that are being held in the EU...the Bloc has come up with a plan. They say they're going to take the interest generated from the assets, and use that to help Ukraine.
George Szamuely of the Global Policy Institute noted that it's not just about the West illegally seizing Russian assets-it's about using those assets to arm Ukraine in its war against Russia... and this is likely just the beginning.

Greeks called democracy as worst system from all 4 which they knew. In US there are no democracy, they even have no direct elections. Far better than in UK or Germany (where are no elections at all, to power came random people for which nobody voted at all), but anyway it is far away from classical democracy. Funny, but in most countries which they blame in non existence of democracy, otherwise, represent classical democratic systems with direct elections and independent (in most cases) branches of power, unlike US where judges assigned by politics, so there are no independent system of courts.

It is likely it will strengthen the Russian economy because much of those assets are stollen assets. It will be a signal that crime don't pay. It would also likely strengthen the anti-western industrial and incresingly military aliance because it will keep the flow of money and trade among that aliance.

Relax it will never happen, theft of the actual frozen Russian financial assets automatically means the EU loses it's North Sea energy supplies. Russia has been patiently waited for the tit-for-tat destruction of the Nordic Gas and Oil pipelines. NATO knows that destroying the Nordstream pipelines will be avenged as per Medvedev's promise. Losing the Nordic Pipelines will be the devastating to those NATO/EU countries using that energy.

It's not Russian money, you guys don't understand law or finance. It's European money & US money. Now, Euro & USD can be an asset of Russia's, but it was never smart to hold a bunch of it without predicting it can be taken away. Governments control their own currency & other countries never "own" another country's currency, but posses it. Possession is NOT the same thing as ownership. Governments can take anyone's money away, anyone's.

@@jamysmith7891 Wrong. Russia rejected from usage of US treasures (papers which represent debt) a lot of years ago and sold everything what had (before it hold over ~$100 billion of US debt). Now West literally took regular money from accounts. Including money of private person, e.g. bloggers, software developers, designers, etc.
