Dane has been my favorite commander for a couple years now. I've been playing him as a pure esper reanimator deck, getting bid threats on the board for cheap and making use of his ability to dodge removal. He acts as a sort of failsafe that dissuades removal on the actual threats without him being one himself.

I loved my deck I built with him built around death triggers, Elenda, Kokusho, those sorts of effects that abused the legend rule because if I can say, give kokusho persist or a reanimation spell, Dane is still legendary so he kills the original again for more juicy damage. Plus he sticks as the creature so it acts as a great removal deterrent.

Dane with big death triggers is just the absolute best, it's difficult to not put all 6 available Kamigawa dragons in!
