Even though if a song/artist/sound ”stands the rest of time” dosen’t have to do with wheather one person still like the song/artist/sound decades later - but wheather the song/artist/sound still attracts new listeners decades later; I as a 27 year old music-lovet can confirm their music is still holding great standards today! Espacially this one 👌🏻👌🏻

It's 1960, I'm 15, and I've just heard "Cathy's Clown". The start of my lifelong love of the boys music. Nothing, in my mind, can touch their harmonies and the stories in their songs. Songs that personified teenage life and angst in the 50s and 60s. And so, yet another of my musical hero's from that era has gone. I'll do my crying in the rain because it's all so sad. Rest in Peace Phil

Having lost my two brothers at a very young age,I am always drawn to brothers that sing together. Their voices are in perfect harmony. Just listen to the bee gees,or the proclaimers. But my all time favourites are these two,the Everly Brothers are angels sent from heaven. I was born in 1968 so wasn't even around to listen to them in their day,but great music will live on for ever. What a joy to listen to. And hopefully great sounding music will one day return,as it has rapidly declined of the past few decades unfortunately, along with morals and dignity. It saddened me to hear that these two brothers had very different views of the world, and clashed terribly off stage. Life is just too short to fall out with the people that matter the most. I would give anything to have a day with my brothers, and there has been a massive hole in my heart since I lost them.

I was 13 when this song came out. A few years later I was dating my late husband. Just as the song ( close to Cathy( followed this one , he would sing them both to me. There will never be another era like the 60s... my name is Cathy...

Amazing how respectful the audience was. These days performers are lucky not to get swamped or shot. Times have changed and not for the better.

To see the Everly Brothers from the audience I would have been turned away from the door because of the color of my skin. Possibly jailed for having the audacity to think that I would be treated equally. Being a nice respectful kid wouldn't have cut it. Times did change for the better! Better is still coming along at a snail's pace. Take one step forward and get kicked back 10.

R.I.P. dear Phillip ! You may have lost this battle against the COPD, but you will have your place in heaven for sure with your beautiful ( second ) voice. You was also such a nice guy.... We will not forget you here but we will miss your voice sure although we do have all your wonderful songs here together with Don and your beautiful close harmony.... My deep condolences to your family and sons and of course also to your brother Don..... We envy the heaven now......

Love those guys, they are my company so much of the time, Reno is a hard place to make close friends, so I listen to these guys and watch their interviews. It really helps. Wish I could tell Don how much he means to me.

This was my dad's favourite song. When he was in hospital, very very sick we played it for him. He was near his last breath but his foot started beating to the song. As soon as the song finished he was gone too. We played it at his funeral. I like to think he is in heaven still dancing to it.

Love this song as it makes me think (and laugh) about my Mum and Dad. Mum's name was yes, Cathy, Dad's name became after the release of this single "Cathy's Clown". Sung to him every time he went into the local after work in those long long ago days. Even after the song fell out of the top 40, it was still a tune he got greeted with, even after I came along some ten years later. Died 40 years ago, I still miss Cathy's (a.k.a Dad) Clown.

First off, wish i could time travel, secondly, love this song. Phil's INCREDIBLE ability to harmonize with Don is unmatched. Blows my mind every damn time. He couldn't do it more perfectly than he does. As for Don, his voice melts my heart. These black & white clips do not convey just have freaking handsome they are . Especially Don. Him in color... Most handsome man to ever walk the planeet. I wish guys were still like this.
