Wow! Thanks for posting. I do wish some enterprising TV company would release a cleaned up digitised version of this series in the UK.

Mike, I've often wondered why they haven't done just that, it would be fantastic if they could release the full TV series 😎

I agree, MeFloody. To my knowledge there’s only one episode of the series that’s available to view and that’s the one featuring Linda Ronstadt. I’ve never seen this clip before. I’d love to see the rest of the series, too. I’m glad we have the audio portions but videos would be brilliant. The Everlys did some great work on these shows. They were wonderful hosts. Don usually did a song solo (“If I Were A Carpenter” was a standout of his) and they did a little humor. Phil did a few solos, too. It was a very engaging show and they were excellent in it. It showed just how versatile they really were.

I hope everyday that the entire season of the summer replacement show turns up in good shape someday!! I am always playing that portion where Don sings If I were a Carpenter….goosebumps!! How I wish that would have been put on an album! The Everlys were naturals….overflowing with talent and extremely stunning in the looks department‼️

@@CandiceToth You say about Don's "If I Were a Carpenter" (16:23~) of Everly Brothers International Archive : Johnny Cash Presents.......Show 8”, don’t you? I’m crazy about this performance too !!! How I wish I could watch this scene!

Love this tune !! Didn't know almost anything about Tony Joe White, he sounds so talented listening to his vocal n guitar(harmonica too). He is several years younger than Everlys, but both of them seem to enjoy themselves so much steeped in this swampy rock.

@mptt883 - "Seemed to enjoy themselves" is an understatement. Phil was about to take flight, and he didn't even try to keep the harmony at a lower volume than the melody. He just leaned back, let loose, and let 'er rip! Maybe swamp rock touched a deep nerve in his Appalachian roots.

@@mptt883 - There is so much visible joy here, and so many interesting truths become apparent when musicians love their music. 1) The performers are more excited than the audience. 2) Don was the guitar riff icon of rock-a-billy, but Don is fascinated by Tony Joe's slightly harder rock licks. 3) Phil's musicianship is on display as he strums faster than the human eye can follow. And we can also hear Phil's variations with harmony in the same way that we usually hear Don's variations with melody. All three boys are so enraptured by the power of music to "take you there" that the audience is simply not needed. It's as if the musicians are saying to the audience, "Take a break, we got this!" Truly a wonderful video clip!

Not familiar with Tony Joe White, but sure recognize the song from one of my Elvis albums. Love seeing these old shows! Thanks🤗

@Mike Everly - Title? "Polk Salad Annie" - is that documented? As a Southerner, we never waste leftovers. Any food too minimal for a full meal becomes either a soup or a salad. Hence, "Pork (po'k) Salad Annie." Translation: "That li'l gal Annie sho do make a mean po'k salad." Does anyone know the history?
