After using autopilot for a longer road trip, I can say that it makes certain parts of driving way easier, and makes other parts of driving way harder. It's a little strange. For roads like the ones he's driving here, definitely just save yourself the hassle and drive 100% manually. For highways, though, you can drive basically 100% autopilot with little to no input.

I had my model3 for 6 months. It was a great novelty having got mine in august 19 and being one of the first on the road. But practically 0. You find yourself charging all the time, the range is nowhere near the advertised range, if you drive at real speeds and have air con on etc. Speaking of aircon you have to in this car I've never known another car that mists up the second you turn the air con off. And the interior for a 40k+ car is so budget and cheap an average citroen is a more pleasant place to be.

What about insurance? That is deal breaker in the US. I looked at a used Model S and the insurance was like a second car payment per month ($300-450) every single month. Overall Tesla are 30-40% higher than other premium sedans. In some markets, US Tesla owners are paying $3500 pounds sterling a year for insurance. I known Tesla has their own insurance "product" in some US states because of this big concern. If you add insurance in your vehicle cost calculations, a lot of middle-middle to upper-middle class Americans just can't justify the expense in terms of budget percentage, especially as housing costs are blasting up like a Space-X rocket.

Autopilot should be used on Motorways and not residential/urban/city areas. Long distance driving this is revolutionary, just wait until theres commercialised self driving trucks - there will never be "driverless" but they will allow drivers to potentially "work" longer hours, thus allowing for better efficiency. We will see - but electric, self driving trucks are definitely the next big thing.

The SIM card that comes with the card roams across all UK networks for maximum coverage. I think it then VPNs back to their service. They used to be Dutch (so it would say KZbin NL), but now it's a Spanish company it comes up as KZbin ES.
