For the frozen planet you could open the iron volcanos and turn it into a giant steam room and build the base inside the forest biome but have it only accessible via transit tube so it doesn't disturb the steam

Interesting idea but that wouldn't leave me enough space for the ranching/farming I think I need to put in. I may well combine the ones near each other though.

Thanks for uploading, i just found you channel a few days ago and you really helped my with one of my favorite games. Do you play other games? I'd also love some factorio content. Your tutorial bites are really good, they helped me tremendously.

Yes I do, but I haven't made content for others because it's a bit of a combination of how I go about that and also the time involved.
