My favourite thing about Dragon Ball Evolution is that it got a video game on PSP. And I think it's the only DB fighting game where you can play as Blooma.

The thing about Magical Girl series is that Sailor Moon just eclipses every other shows. In fact, this genre these days basically means "Sailor Moon clone". My personal recommendation is Madoka Magica. It's classic and only 12 episodes long, taking more thoughtful take on the genre (warning, it can get a bit grimmer than Sailor Moon) Others I most often hear to check out are Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, Revolutionary Girl Utena and Pretty Cure (although that last one is like Power Rangers franchise: numerous shows about different people but somewhat similar settings). Also if you're fine with Western Magical Girls shows, then She-Ra (2018 reboot), Miraculous Lady Bug, Star Vs Forces of Evil and W.I.T.C.H. are all good choices.

Thank you so much for saying that about male relationships. I find it very reductive and limiting as a male that men can’t show love and affection or relationship of any kind in fiction without it being seen as romantic or being gay panic. Men can have deep bonds and relationships like everyone else and it’s hard to find in fiction.

As someone who's watched Avatar the Last Airbender since I was a kid, I've also been captivated by fantasy stories that take place in magical worlds but have a lot of real-life complications and while the characters are shown to be both cartoony and lively, many of the characters are also shown to have strong emotions or are hunted about things in the past that they either feel grief or anguish. And the show manages to present a great contrast between lighthearted and fun while at the same time being dark and tragic but without leaning too hard in either direction and does so in a way that doesn't feel forced or phoned in. And it was this show that led me to find other stories similar to Avatar, and I've since then have found many Anime, Manga, and Video Games particularly JRPGs and that has inspired me to create my own story similar to Avatar but with it's own identity and I hope that one day have it be published if I ever get it finished.

It's kinda weird to me that you didn't get into One Piece considering I've always thought One Piece is like if early dragon ball had better use of the side characters and every arc was the red ribbon army arc. Maybe it's for the best though a One Piece dissection would never end.

​​@@MistareFusionI would almost bet that you would love the series especially in the beginning since it is not really tzat fighting focused especially in the anime. But yeah the length I get it😂. But you don't need to be initmidated by the pirate theme. I never saw anything else pirate related either. The author was a big fan of the series "Vickie the Viking" when he was a kid and the show moreso gives off that shows vibe in the beginning and the further it goes onward the more varied the setting becomes (Feudal Japan, Future Technology, Mermaids, etc.)

@@MistareFusionI was the exact same way. When 2020 hit, we finally watched it together (One Pace was an integral part of that journey since it’s a fan made “DB Kai” type edit). I didn’t like the early arcs at all and am completely ambivalent to pirates. But I really ended up enjoying it.

In relation to Rey, I think another way it could be analyzed is the idea of fitting in, that she wants to from the outside but that she actually does from the inside (seemingly the original plan was for her to essentially be a new Chosen One like Anakin [who was made special by the Force itself, rather than an outside source], before it was dropped). A shame as it had been done well similarly, prior, with Meetra Surik, who I think is another good example of that archetype who also goes through a major learning journey, which generally stuck better than Rey's. Watching a three-way comparison of Battle of Gods would be greatly amusing.

Not the movies themselves, but other writers seemingly were setting the sequels on their own. Jocasta Nu told Vader that the Force will always find its balance through another vessel before he killed her, which I took to mean that Chosen Ones appear when they would be needed, presumably referring to nobodies like Anakin and then Rey, but that plan clearly fell through.

I'm so glad to hear that! Chances are you'll be the only one. I wish I had explained why a bit more. For me, it's because it drives home the gameplay thesis that every action has consequences. You have to plan your route and live with your mistakes because time is always moving forward. You just don't get that in the remake where you can perma-save at a trouble spot and redo it any time you have a problem. That really strips the game of that truly oppressive feeling of a moon bearing down and you and leaves it as just... Zelda with a timer strapped on it. The remake is still great. Some of its changes I enjoy for the novelty, and the fact that time runs significantly faster on the remake gave me a new challenge as I had to adjust my memorized schedule to account for the smaller amount of time.

@@MistareFusion The fact that the Song of Time doesn't also save your game on 3DS is also murder on my muscle memory. Legit have lost entire cycles because I played it like the original and just turned it off after rewinding time.

The less-slowed time combined with the reusable saves makes it feel as if you're obligated to play the game as a segmented speedrun. Not an experience I'd recommend to first-timers.

One of my favorite tropes is the team of good guys sneaking into the enemy base and getting separate, leading to chaotic confrontations. The Baba Yaga castle in Soul Eater or the finale of Fullmetal Alchemist or Kingdom Hearts 2 comes to mind.

In regards to the question about doing like tier list videos and such. I hate to say it but you're doing it wrong. You still end up putting in too much effort. I believe they meant more of the more "mind numbing" content that does amazingly on KZbin. I feel like you're the type of person that this would be hard for due to your work ethic. If you did outfit tier lists instead of or as well as the fashion extravaganzas I believe those videos would do great. Stuff like that as well as like 10 - 15 minute videos in almost more of a rant style on a not very important topic. I love your content soooo much Lance and have always been surprised at how low your subscribe count is. That's why I'm bringing this up, not because I want different content but that I do think there are some very easy videos you could make that could grow the channel of that's what you want. If not it's no big deal, I'll just keep living your videos that I do get. Have a great day!

I thought of a great way to develop Yamucha further instead of letting his character go to waste. He should have participated in the 25th Budokai. In the first round he could have been paired against Yamu. Yamu could have beaten Yamucha to show that the situation was serious. This would have added depth to Yamucha's character.

Assuming you’re referring to the 2011 Star Wars trilogy Blu-rays, I’m not sure where you’re seeing those because I don’t own them. If I had to take a guess I’m assuming you’re mistaking it for my Blu-ray copy of The Last Jedi. But if you’re just referring to Blu-rays of Star Wars properties in general, then, yes, I own all the Disney movies on that format.

The really thick one is The Last Jedi, which is the only one I could guess anyone mistaking for the trilogy Blu-ray set.

I think there is a queer reading of... parts of DB even if its clearly note intentional. Im kinda shit posting but something amung Freiza, his goons and a perceived hierarchy within the villionous ranks of the queer community. Like we got a wealthy conventionally attractive elegant white guy at the top who loves literally colonizing and gentrifying, a bunch of flamboyant quirky weirdos and buff guys filling out the middle ranks and (I can make this joke) People perceved to be ether too weak or to be big dumb apes at the bottom that are just seen as big dumb fight animals and the exploitation of another cultures practices (I assume Saiyans in general love training) that he himself basically thinks is beneath him basically as a means to make him cooler or something Someone with a bigger platform should do that video

I really adored how The Last Jedi subverted the trope of the Chosen One, but I can see why a lot of people didn't like it, because that trope is an essential part of the series DNA, what with Luke's Hero Journey narrative, which often has the Chosen One bit included as part of it, and then in the prequels Anakin being given an extremely blatant Chosen One narrative. Part of why I liked it is because I abhor JJ Adams Mystery Box BS, and all that thing about Rey's parents is just the most terrible Mystery Box BS for Mystery Box BS's sake possible, as he established an uninteresting mystery that he had no intention of ever unveiling, leaving it to the next person to worry about it. JJ Adams is a terrible writer. That's all.

Yeah, I loved it. It was one of my favorite movies of last year. I enjoyed its story, its message, its aesthetic. Honestly, the Ken musical/dance number would practically have been enough on its own for me to love it. As someone who has literally never cared about Barbie to any appreciable degree, I still have to say it greatly tickled me.

I think you'd really really reaaally dig One Piece. In another comment I saw you mentioned you don't like Pirate stories. I'm not too big on them either and luckily One Piece is less 17th century "yo ho ho a pirates life for me" and more akin to the OG Dragon Ball adventures. For people who LOVE OG DB and want more, One Piece will completely satisfy that need. This is up for debate but for me, Dragon Ball has gotten incredibly stale (Daima could hopefully change this) but One Piece is still going extremely strong from a writing perspective. The length is intimidating and I'd suggest reading the manga if you do decide to experience it. It's on it's final saga so you should deffo catch up before the ending is spoiled and plastered all over the internet when that happens in a few years. Honestly I think One Piece would be right up your alley. Plus we could get One Piece dissection. That would last YEARS!

I think it's worth it to check out One Piece...eventually, once we know it doesn't completely crash and burn in the ending. Feels like shonen jump properties have a habit of ending unsatisfyingly.

You'd be surprised how much Super fans hate on the manga version of the ToP. I don't understand how this fanbase enjoys such a slog of either new non-characters or old character assassination (Piccolo and Tenshinhan must've hit their heads hard before the tournament).
