One change I would make to the special act of PGSM, give Ami a better choice at careers. She chose a stereotypical path. Ami Mizuno, with your looks and smarts, you could have gotten any great career, but NO! You chose the Japanese stereotypical choice to be a doctor rather than forging your own path. PS. I would have loved for Ami to be a games programmer and an E-Sports star!

I've already said this before, but Lance needs to do a whole dissection of this whole franchise just like Dragon Ball.

Something tells me that you will soon make the Dissection of Sailor Moon's OG Manga and Anime adaptations. Thus, I be will looking forward to them.

On the Super Sentai / Kamen Rider side a lot of casts do describe there time as hurricane like but in reality are just highly scheduled and stage shows are part of it so PGSM probably had that to lean on, similarly a good portion of shows' cast do become friends in real life so PGSM feels like it would be similar situation.

Here's my opinion no one asked for: The Special Act has some weird parts, but I like it. Especially the ending. The only thing I dislike is Mamoru's behavior. It kind of comes out of nowhere. Act Zero was weird, but pretty fun. And it's the only time we get to see Sailor V's awakening in a show (though it's very different from the manga). The Shitennou are hilarious in Kirari Super Live, I crack up every time!^^ Yeah, I also wonder why Nephrite's actor doesn't choose a different child. I don't know if you've watched any of the Sailor Moon musicals, but there's a show where they had quick change transformations (it's the Nogizaka version). It's very impressive. They usually use doubles to create the effect of a transformation.

I think the main reason Keiko Kitagawa wasn't available for the majority of the Special Act was because she also had to film her scenes for Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. I could be wrong, but that's what I heard 🤔

If it makes you feel any better, the girls being friends outside of the show isn't manufactured. You can go back numerous years on their social media profiles and they have pictures at their birthday parties and they show up for each other's work social events and have been since filming wrapped. Keiko Kitagawa even kept her Jewelry Star Bracelet as a memento after filming. They're genuinely friends in real life and that's beautiful ❤

Well I'm American (you know, from the continent. Not the imperialistic self-centered dystopian country who selfishly appropriated the entire name of a country for themselves) and I think their rendition of "America" is fine.

It’s been amazing to re-live this series, I such great memories about it. Thank you, the live action doesn’t have the love (or coverage) as it should.

It’s so funny to me how fans of the FUNimation dub only can get so defensive, yet still knock people who enjoy things like the manga or Japanese version for supposedly enjoying the series the wrong way. What is this, the 2000s? “If you’re not saying your Krillins and your Master Roshis and your Guardians of the Earth, you’re a gay little nerd who isn’t worth mentioning!” No seriously, I’ve been called a nerd for using “Kuririn” in debates in Discord text channels. Debates that were not spoken word, but TEXT BASED. Is Crunchyroll/FUNimation just sending out spies intent on propagating every old naming misnomer they made in the ‘90s and 2000s?

What would’ve been better is if instead of Freeza already having his forms ready to go whenever he wanted, he literally creates them during the battle in desperation to respond to the fighters’ strengths. That would give moments like Piccolo being stronger than his second form, Gohan going ape on his second and third forms, Vegeta growing to be on the level of his first form, and even Kuririn cutting off his tail more legit tension and pathos, it would give his final form a more complete vibe, and it would even give tension to him using more of his power than he thought he’d have to, because save for these opponents, he never would have before! Hearing you refer to his second and third forms as “incomplete” stirred the Writer-Writer Fruit powers in my brain.

This is where this arc kinda goes downhill for me. From the Dragon Team-and Vegeta-first arriving to Goku powering up for Ginyu and Jheese, it’s a peak arc. Once Ginyu switches bodies with Goku, the writing FEELS lower quality in all perspectives and characters that are utilized, and it just doesn’t get engaging again for me until Goku gets to fight Freeza. Not doing ANYTHING with a _canon_ Evil Goku premise, wasting Jheese and Nail so sorely, the asinine decision to bring Piccolo to Namek, the way the High Elder dies, the drawn out fight with Freeza’s first three forms, and Vegeta’s own defeat. Save for Piccolo merging with Nail, which is actually a really good closer to his arc, it just feels wimpy and underwritten. That scene where Goku is imitating Ginyu’s poses is PEAK Dragon Ball, and mixed with the genuine tension and pathos of the action of the former half of the arc, that’s the tone it should’ve had all the way throughout. Maybe make “Go-yu” an actual threat instead of the butt of a low battle power joke, which would REQUIRE a powerful fighter from Kaio’s to need to be brought to Namek, to help the good guys not die and fail their mission. Maybe someone like Tenshinhan, who didn’t do anything even in the anime version of this arc.

The fact that Tenshinhan leaps into action despite not being able to keep up is far more satisfying than the weaker characters simply being the peanut gallery. It shows that they could have still had something to do.

So I started watching Sailor Moon the proper anime because I watched the first two videos in this series and hey im an anime guy and you only know 2 anime so I gotta get in there! So thanks for turning me into a Moonie! Sailor Venus always seemed like an oddball to me... like I knew that Sailor V came befor Sailor Moon and Sailor V was kinda retrofitted but... her acctually joining the team feels so odd because she is kind ploppedin with little ceramony and I get its weird production stuff but I was sorta expecting uhh.... because she seems like the odd one out, to be somewhat akin to a 6th ranger who has a little more going on like their own morphed and poses that kinda dont quite fit with the rest of the team and for V herself to be a little less interesting but kinda come off as a... smarter and older Usagi due to one part retrofitting V into the plot while Usagi exist but also because I assume Minako was just Usagi but more competent and less charismatic. and I guess that sorta happens but something about it feels uncanny and underbaked
