A lot of people not feeling sorry for the dad.. He probably felt his one job in life was to protect his baby girl, and literally the worst thing that could happen, happened. Of course he’s never going to recover from that

The poor man was never the same again, he started to drink heavily and was found dead at his home in 2014. He was 45 years of age What a tragic family.

I read Sara Payne's book and what a diamond she is. She said in her book despite what Roy Whiting did to her daughter she is still against the death penalty and says its wrong. Instead being bitter and angry she channelled all her energy into Sarah's Law and thanks to her the police now have to tell parents if there are peadophile's in the area.

Sarah would have turned 31 years old by now. Hope she's enjoying heaven and is flying high with the angels and enjoying her beautiful life. Sarah's law will never die.

She is only half a year older than me, it's insane as it could have been any kid and makes me grateful for my life that much more. You're right though, she is an angel in heaven and safely in God's hands.

Destroyed the whole family. The daddy died. The mums had strokes. That disgusting man destroyed a good family. And killed an innocent beautiful young girl. Who had her whole life infront of her. They should of locked him in a room with the family. I was a kid when this happened. Still upsets me seeing it. Being a dad now myself. Jail is no good for the likes of that demon. 😢 and to the brother. Its not ur fault at all mate. U were a child urself. Feel for him. The guilt in him because of the sick bas***d!

In her book Sara Payne said despite what Roy Whiting did she is still against the death penalty and thinks it wrong. What a dignified and a lovely lady she is no one would blame her for demanding his head in a noose. Mike Payne also got a shot gun and told Sara if Whiting walk's free he's a dead man, Sara was so worried he would do it she told the police who talked him out of it and said he'd go down for murder if he did, poor man it destroyed their whole family, Sara couldn't even talk to Lee about it because he was a witness having seen Whiting driving away and she didn't want to be accused of coaching him.

Sarah was the image of her Mum ❤I was around 19 when this happened, I remember signing the ‘Sarah’s Law’ petition and wearing the badge for such a long time. I can’t imagine having to think of the things that baby girl went through, like her family must do, over and over.

Having a passing interest in true crime this popped up and I wish I hadn't watched it. Suddenly it all comes back the memory of how awful it was I don't mind admitting I welled up watching. I had a "Who's that?" moment driving through Maidstone in Kent a few years ago. I realised later it was Sarah's Dad poor bloke looked terrible. Sarah's Mum did well keeping her composure when on camera I couldn't have referred to that thing that did it as a man.

Sara Payne has behaved with the tumost dignity over the years she said in her book despite what Roy Whiting did to her daughter she is against the death penalty. Also I feel sorry for the prison psychiatrist who wrote report saying Whiting would reoffend and likely kill if he was released and the report was ignored. That psychiatrist must feel haunted knowing their assessment was proved true so quickly they must have felt helpess. Wtf were the parole board thinking releasing that scumbag back into society he hadn't long been out of prison when he abducted Sarah
