I find the Justin Bieber part so so disturbing. Heck, I remember seeing the initial footage where Diddler said he was going to spend 48hrs with him and I noticed how uncomfortable he looked. Even the ones we think were able to make it out… prove that they actually didn’t. They were just able to hold it together longer before it all caught up with them. Not too mention the rare cases where the adults did try to step in but were unable to. (There is only one case that I know of where the adults in Hollywood actually tried to save a child. The little girl who voiced Anna Marie in All Dogs Go To Heaven. The system didn’t get her… an abusive alcoholic coward of a father did) We need to hold the entertainment industry accountable for people like Diddy, R. Kelly, and what have you. These men were well known as predators but the entertainment industry allowed them to continue because… what they made it money? Look at how much money is lost when their evil is discovered.

Yes, they should; with these charges there's usually no evidence whatsoever, it's just one word against the other; which means that the more time passes by memories of the events get ever more distorted. Which means you very quickly come to a point where you cannot prove a crime beyond reasonable doubt, and thus all crimes beyond that time must always lead to acquittal; it is then a complete waste of tax payer money to start a court case. Also, if justice fails, and you get a conviction by a jury despite there clearly being a reasonable doubt, you will get (an even higher rate) of false convictions. Already, of the people proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be innocent and released from prison, the false conviction is for a sex crime. To eliminate the time limit, you will be locking up a lot more innocent people.

A big part of the reason why statutes of limitation exist is because the courts are overburdened as it is. Otherwise, there would be no cut off and claims could be brought at any time. In addition, spoliation of the evidence is an issue too. So it makes it increasingly difficult to effectively resolve any legal claim if they're brought seven or eight years later (for example).
