My highschool bestfriend was brainwashed by his cult. She became so scary and she was always talking about how she couldn't understand why people were hating their pastor and how she would sacrifice and die for him several times over. When we graduated highschool, she kind of disappeared in social media for about 2 years. It turns out, she became more involved in their cult, attending meetings, camps, and other activities (I dont know what they were doing to be honest). She freaked me out so much, I cut all contacts with her since she started to convince me and my friends to join them. When we refused, she would tell us how much of a sinner we were and there's no way the pastor would allow us into his kingdom. Its so crazy. I tried to dissuade her away from that cult but she wouldn't listen. She's dedicated her life for that pastor who claims to be the owner of the universe.

I think I was 15 or just turning 16 at the time when one weekend, she invited me to go to one of Quiboloy's speeches, and me, being bored out of my mind, decided "sure why not". I remember that at the time, they just unveiled the whole dome they were planning to build (that eventually got canceled), and frankly it was quite an eerie sight seeing most of these people showing so much loyalty to this pastor, complete with broadcasting cameras and all. To add more details, it is not just the PNP (Philippine National Police) involved in the man hunt, the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) had to step in as well. The reason why he surrendered and was arrested is because according to the PNP, they gave him an "ultimatum": "If he doesnt surrender, they will raid the one building that is "forbidden'' to enter" Also his 30 hectare property and mansion has rooms that were constructed without permits from the local government. Just like to share, as someone who's been hearing about this a lot around me, I sort of have this paranoia (or maybe just intuition really) that the publicizing of this case along with Alice Guo's is to distract the masses from something far more sinister going down. May or may not involve current VP's "cOnfIDEntiAl fUNds" ? Or maybe something completely different?? Who knows. And to add, my parents were vocal critics of Quiboloy, but this was before him and Duterte teamed up, and my parents are diehard Duterte supporters (DDS 🤪🤪). Slowly, eventually they, too, started to think he was genuinely doing good for his community, and that infuriates and terrifies me.
