Vincent Clark's Depeche Mode with Speak and Spell. Interesting debut. Listening to it now in retrospect, a classic early electro album. Loved New Life, Nodisco, Photographic and Puppets, and Dave's whispery vocals an interesting fit with Vince's electronic compositions... The Alan Wilder years 1982 to 1995 best years of the classic lineup with Violator, Music for the Masses and Black Celebration probably the best albums from this period. The classic lineup being the coolest and best incarnation of this band. Post Wilder years. Not as great as during his tenure, more mechanical sounding than ever before, but still a good selection of albums and singles. They lost something with his departure, but admirably carried on despite his leaving the band and still remaining a commercial record selling force notwithstanding his leaving them... Ultra, Songs of the Universe and Playing the Angel, the best albums from this period.
