Jennifer "Jenny" Wakeman (XJ-9) is a state-of-the-art sentient gynoid automaton daughter created by her mother, Dr. Noreen Wakeman after her human daughter died. Though XJ-9 was designed to be Earth's protector, armed to the teeth with a wide range of weapons, devices, and transformations, she desires to live the life of a normal teenager and often makes this desire quite apparent to her friends and mother. Jenny is often kind, friendly and optimistic, though this also comes with being rather naive as to her surroundings. Often, people like the Crust Cousins and Vexus take advantage of Jenny's friendliness to further their own goals, though she usually catches on and comes out victorious in the end. Jenny can also be somewhat of a sucker for trends, even when her mechanical designs prevent her from using them.

I noticed that Jenny's Season 2/3 design makes her seem 'younger' compared to her Season 1 design. Stuff like her having a larger head, eyes, hands, and feet, in proportion to her body. Ironic that you'd think the opposite would be true and Nora would gradually "age" Jenny to simulate her maturing over time...Unless she never intends for Jenny to "age" and to be a "Teenager" forever. I am genuinely curious why the showmakers tweaked her design the way they did. I also noticed that where in Season 1, Jenny is noticeably taller than her classmates (a good head taller than Brad for example), Season 2 and 3 seems to have shrunk her since alot of the time she stands equal to them in height. Maybe to imply everyone BUT Jenny is aging due to them being biological, where she is not? I wonder if this was intentional on the part of the showmakers, or an oversight.

@@MyLifeasaTeenageRobotFanbase Thanks, I can't be sure what the reasoning was behing the crew altering Jenny's design between Seasons 1 and 2. Perhaps it was purely an aesthetic choice with no deeper meaning behind it? Given how self-conscious Jenny is about how society views her, I like to think she deliberately altered her design to fit in better. Namely by adopting a shorter, more teenage height to be on an even height footing with her peers. Given her impressive transformation powers I could easily see her doing that. Or perhaps Nora tweaked her design in the lab so she felt closer to her teenage friends without changing her design too drastically.

@@deannamccrimmon7805 Could be, though if so they are some tall teenagers. Her canon height is 6"6ft tall and alot of adults don't reach that height, let alone teenagers. Jenny often outsizes the adults around her in season 1. I think either the animators forgot they made her that tall or it made scenes where she is closer in height to her peers easier to compose/animate.
